Bike Check: Joe Barnes' Orange Alpine 6 Has a New Coil Shock From Formula
@ripplemuncher: actually they still are made from sheet metal that’s folded and welded. None of it is hydroformed. There is only one drawn tube on the bike and that is the seat tube. The head tube and bottom bracket, along with the dropouts and pivot areas are machined. The frames are ‘quenched’ after being made though as a treatment to align the molecular structure in the aluminium again. With that said, they’re not noisy anymore and they ride superb. Very lively and bang on geometry.

Caminade Announces Tailor Made Titanium ChillEasy
I saw this bike out in Morzine and spoke to the rider about it, it’s different, looks cool and from how he was riding it seemed to ride pretty well to be honest. Pinkbike readers are the first to hate in something that’s different yet they’re also the first to say if a bike also “looks like a Trek”. No one is happy, just go ride bikes.

Pinkbike Poll: Vote For Your Favorite Custom World Champs Downhill Bike
Love the marbling of some of these but Fearon and Frew’s old skool Kona’s bring back a lot of great memories! #stabsupreme

Identiti Mettle Frame and Shock Large

$925 GBP
For Sale is my Identiti Mettle Frame and Rockshox Super Deluxe rear shock. The frame I had been used for 2 weeks but both of these have been a week in Morzine and a week in Tuscany. There are marks on the frame as you would expect and one very small ding on the belly of the down tube, there are also a few scratches from where I ripped my rear mech off and it now has a new syntace hanger fitted. No cracks or anything major. These frames have modern Geometry so make sure you check the geometry chart on Identiti's website, I'm 6'1" and it's great. RRP on the frame is £1699.99 but I'll take £975 or very nearest offer. I'll also throw in a Reverb too. PayPal fees on top unless you want to come and collect in person. Cheers.

2018 Specialized Turbo Levo FSR Carbon - First Look
I was of the opinion that Mountain E-Bikes handled worse and didn't ride like normal bikes. I recently rode Orange's new Alpine 6E and have to say that although weighty (about the same as a mid 2000's DH bike) it rode really well, hitting jumps was real stable and the Shimano Steps E8000 motor was real good. The only gripe was that you have to run slightly more psi in your suspension to allow for the extra weight and when you stopped pedalling the motor cuts out and it's almost as if you have the brakes on. My new view is that you have to treat these as an alternative option to ride, we rode normal bikes first and I was shattered then in the afternoon we switched to the E-bikes and we did the same climbs and run but 4 times over! I had the same amount of fun but for longer. For smashing places like bike parks then no (unless you don't uplift) but for all day riding you can get more done in the same space of time they are great and can handle just as well. Just watch out putting the power down out of berms as the assist can catch you out!

Afton Shoes First Look - Crankworx Les Gets 2017
The shimano's are pretty stiff. I went away from 5:10 as I wanted more flex in the sole, i used to run Vans Waffles all the time (albeit a bit too flexy) so wanted something in the middle ground. I bought some adidas Terrex and have my perfect shoe. Stealth Rubber soles and better flex.
