Nose is no longer straight. Thanks Mr Ranger for grading the last yump to be 'just so'. (can't blame out but myself really).

Shimano's 2012 XTR Rear Derailler Explained - Sea Otter 2011
I'd put that on a 1/10 XC bike, should work nicely there. Wouldn't put it on my single pivot heckler though as I wouldn't trust it not to interfere with rear travel chain growth. DH bike? meh, if I was putting XTR on a DH bike then I think I'd be earning too much.

Tomac Primer 200 DH bike - Sea Otter 2011
Very nice. And was about to comment that it's nice to see a bike that's not over engineered for a change (which is still somewhat true). But can't help wondering about the rear linkage and the real benefits over a simple rear triangle, which they could have done. In axle path terms it would have been the same. So really I can only see the benefit being ramp up on the shock and looking at it, the ability to train the shock path up the down tube (more compact design?). Anyone know the benefits? Ta!

LOL. We call this SMS - Small Man Syndrome - we have a few like it in our office. Bit like a small dog, has to bark all the fecking time to seem bigger. "I own the state police". hahah. You're a fecking state alright.

Faved cos there was no way that was your fault dude. Watching that, she was rolling on, and slammed on the brakes mid trail. Fair enough if there was a huge drop or something but really, she slammed you. Still, all on camera and perhaps she'll watch this and realise she overreacted - after all, when I've smashed it I'm in no shape to pick up a DH bike and throw it... Happy riding fellow and top music choice too!

DT Swiss' 7 Speed Downhill Hub - Sea Otter
Gets my vote to (which is worthless) 10spd on a Dh bike is just not needed. I went from a Dura-ace 9spd, 11-22 (IIRC) to LX 9spd 11-32 thinking I'd need the range now I'm riding some flatter routes. Not at all. The old dura ace would be fine, and of course benefits from a very short cage mech. Won't bother changing back until something breaks, and the LX is high normal which is very fine indeed...

Prototype KS Telescoping Seatpost - Taipei Cycle Show 2011
Sort of agree - certainly I have no real issues with a stop at the top of a climb. And in fact I usually ride with a buddy, so he has to stop at the top too. Having a trick seat height adjustment post would just mean I was showing off whilst he adjusts... But, the rolling gradient thing is probably more in line with why this concept is useful, but not really ever had an issue with having to drop the saddle mid track. Or rather, when I've had to get off the back fast as the track gets tricky, the last thing I'd be doing will be fecking with seat height, I'm already off the back and trying to manage the tech section. Having said all this, I ride a Heckler for the most part, and if I was doing mostly solo, I could be seriously tempted. And this is a nice example!

Race Face Closes the Doors
Gutted. My DH/MB life really kicked off in '03, and back then they were the brand to aspire to. I think even now they are up there with the best - it's amazing that they've got to this state without being bought out by one of the bigger bike brands... Imagine, a Norco fully decked out in Race Face gear, I for one would lust over something like that. Ho hum, luck to the workers for Race Face and a poke in the eye to their management for watching the world end without getting things sorted.
