I'd want it much more if it was the same build but said my name on rather than mike's. Not really wanting somebody else's name on my frame to be honest.

  • 1 0
Oh yeah my bad, I have a habit of doing that lol Don't see why a tapered headtube matters though..
  • 1 0
i belive both mikes amp and rampant had tapered headtube, the amp i know forsure because i had a chat about it with his at jumpship, banshee just did a custom 1-off frame for him
  • 2 0
I used to work for Banshee and made all of Mike's 2011 bikes, his rampant has a custom tapered head tube, but his amp does not.
  • 1 0
stoked for him. he rides at my local spots and some spots that i've helped build on. such a rad guy.
  • 2 1
he is riding with the stratline hydrolic gyro on his bike that bike doesn't have on

definitely not. Not with those atlas cranks and manitou fork. Dude honestly this bike looks kind of slapped together with scattered parts but I'm digging the frame
  • 3 1
You kidding? The circus is hella light, 4.7 pounds without a cut steer tube.
  • 6 1
Not hella light, just light. 831 is something I'd call hella light Wink
  • 1 0
yeah my f100 rlc weighs 3.3 lbs uncut. thats hella light
  • 8 0
hahah 831 is hella light because people only in nor cal say hella
  • 2 0
Haha, the amp frame is like 4.5 pounds, plus the curucs which is around 4.1. Geax AKAs are about 1.5lbs each (I think) then the rest... Gotta be like 24 pounds
  • 1 0
I'm running 831's and a tab bit lighter parts and my amp weighs in at 24 pounds.
  • 2 0
All i was saying is it's clearly not the lightest bike. And I'm pretty sure "hella" is spreading faster than AIDS so it's not just NorCal now.
  • 1 0
 i'm sticking to WICKED
  • 1 0
at fr3erid3r people in los angeles give me weird looks when i say hella but it is more than nor cal tho
  • 1 4
That geometry looks like it will ride like shit
  • 2 0
thats what i said about yer mom!!
  • 2 0
 @rupintart

geometry is f*cking dialled, I've sold loads of AMPs and every customer has raved about the geometry and strength / weight

its somewhat 'proven' considering Mike Montgomery placed 2nd at Whistler Crankworx on his AMP last year Wink
  • 1 0
That geometry statement doesn't mean shit since Mike Montgomery can probably ride on a Huffy and kill it. People get so concerned with geometry that pros ride rather than geometry that works for THEM...
  • 1 0
read my quote: "geometry is f*cking dialled, I've sold loads of AMPs and every customer has raved about the geometry and strength / weight"

I am talking about EVERY CUSTOMER, not Mike Montgomery - I've never met this dude but enjoyed watching his riding on videos

every customer, means regular joes putting down their hard earned $$ ££ on the AMP

these guys all had previous experiences with many other brands selling DJ frames
  • 1 0
That still doesn't mean anything. When was the last time you saved up a ton of money for a bike, rode on it, and went "well, this bike totally blows." It doesn't happen. It's the nature of buying something you worked hard for and enjoying it. My P3 rode like a truck but I was still stoked and loved it when I bought it. Looking back, that bike sucked ass. A fair shake or REAL feedback would be somebody testing it for a couple weeks and then giving feedback in comparison to what they have ridden. They have nothing invested in it so they won't have any bias.
  • 1 0
Rupintart, I actually have a banshee amp I custom built about a year ago, I have to honestly say it rides pretty dialed. You have also have to take in account I'm 5'8" about 170lbs and I have a small amp. The size does actaully fit me.
  • 5 0
probly would have gotten more bids if it was his actual bike, that he actually had ridden lightly. deffinately not the exact build.
  • 5 0
 Yeah no I9's? Weeeeeeeak.
  • 4 0
 wheres the two pink nipples.
  • 2 0
And the gyro, the pink grips and the pink spokes for that matter! It is for the "Keep a Breast" foundation, they should have put some pink on it for support! It's still an incredible bike!
  • 1 0
Why swap out the I9 wheels if this is apparently the "replica" build? He rides I9 wheels, not Sun Ringle.
  • 1 0
mike's I9 wheels only had two pink spokes on them ...
  • 2 0
in the article is says "Banshee Bikes have set up an eBay auction to sell off a replica Banshee Amp frame built up with an amazing spec very similar to what Mike himself rides." so from the sounds of it they could not get I9 to be involved ...
