Quebec Provincial Champs - Vallee Du Parc

The 2016 Quebec Cup Series came to an end at Vallee Du Parc over the weekend. Riders from Quebec, Ontario, and the USA gathered for the final event of the Series and for Quebec racers, Provincial Champion jerseys were at stake.

Vallee Du Parc is a small ski resort located near the city of Shawinigan in the Mauricie region. The two-minute long race course was quite challenging with many pedalling sections, technical rock gardens, and tricky corners. The lack of rain and the warm weather recently helped the course to be faster than it has ever been. Vallee Du Parc host a DH Quebec Cup since 2014, thanks to the good folks at Laferté/Trou Du Diable for their commitment! The 2016 edition was a success once again! Check out how the weekend unfolded here.

Unfamiliar with the Vallee Du Parc course, Ontarian racer, Adam Robbins wasn't looking too worried during Saturday's practice. He was among the fastest juniors.

The rider who would take home the win here would have to be pinned the whole way down. John Lefrancois knows a thing or two about being pinned. The Bromont pinner was looking fast!

Quebec Provincial Champs - Vallee Du Parc
Unlucky weekend for veteran Andy Thibodeau. He landed the final hip jump a bit too far and injured himself during Saturday's practice.

It's great to see some riders from outside Quebec at the Q-Cups. Brendan Looby from the USA was enjoying his time across the border.

Phil Ricard was hungry for the win this weekend. Winning the 3rd round of the Series earlier this season, he was aiming for another win. Coming to VDP Phil had secured himself the overall win of the Series and he'll be stoked to rock the #1 plate again next year.

Benjamin Despres-Morin had a good 2016 season. Taking on the hot seat for couple minutes and finishing up in 3rd, he was all smiles.

The Major Cycles/Devinci rider, Sam Thibault was also one of the fastest riders during practice. He came down with an impressive time of 1:56:040 and took place in the hot seat for the rest of the race.

Elite Podium; Hugo Langevin, Phil Ricard, Sam Thibault, Benjamin Despres-Morin and John Lefrancois.

Sam Thibault grabbed himself an impressive third consecutive Elite Quebec Champion jersey and he won every single race that Vallee Du Parc hosted over the seasons. We'll have to wait until next year to see if he can do 4 on 4!

Thanks to everybody who showed up and made this event a success once again. Special thanks to Pat Pratte and all his crew for the hard work of putting this event together.

Team Major Cycles/Devinci had a spectacular season here in Quebec and we owe this success to our talented and dedicated riders.
