The date is set! On Monday, May 25, 2015, the second annual Bike Day in Canada will bring together cyclists, cycling organizations, and members of all three levels of government to highlight the importance of cycling development in Canada as a healthy, environmentally and economically friendly form of physical activity, transportation and tourism.
Cyclists need to unite and create a voice, a voice that speaks to the decision makers and represents cycling interests wherever they are; commuting, land access to trails and support for the industry, the jobs and the benefits of healthy living.
The roots began in the city and on the streets, now the
NSMBA (North Shore Mountain Bike Association) will be the first mountain bike group to fully get on board and take this movement to the forest.
It's not exclusive, all are welcome, so get involved, plan your own ride and share your passion with the politicians of your community.
There will be two planned routes, check them out on
Trailforks.
1 - easy ride to
Princess Park2 - carry on to
Expresso for a nice social ride
Both rides leave from the
North Vancouver District Municipal Hall.
Canada Bikes wants to involve you and your organization in this exciting movement to promote cycling in Canada! To date, Bike Day on the Hill in Ottawa, as the signature ride of Bike Day in Canada, has attracted cyclists, cycling advocates and Federal politicians. We are seeking a commitment from cycling advocates, organizations, business leaders and government representatives to organize a ride or cycling-related event in your area on May 25, 2015 as part of the second annual Bike Day in Canada. Canada Bikes encourages local cycling events across the country that engage members of the public, politicians, and businesses, to advance all forms of cycling in the community.
Bike Day in Canada is a non-partisan initiative with support from members of all political parties and, Canada Bikes, the national voice for commuter, touring and recreational cycling.
