BC Bike Race the ‘Ultimate Singletrack Experience’ and Kazimirski Injury Lawyers are excited today to announce the winner of the Kazlaw Community Mountain Biking Award!

We asked you to vote for your favorite out of the 6 finalists and today, after 10 days of voting, we are pleased to announce our Winner, Joel Harwood from Squamish BC. Joel will now have 7 days of sweet singletrack ahead of him from June 29th to July 5th, he will be on a well earned vacation at the BC Bike Race – congratulations Joel Harwood!

Excerpt from Joel Harwood Nomination Letter:

What we are most proud of is something that hasn't even happened yet, but it will, and it's about to be huge! Thanks to the countless hours and amazing initiative that Joel Harwood has put into place, the Howe Sound Secondary School is about to offer the first ever Cycling Academy available in Canada! Yes, you heard that right, biking for school credit! The Cycling Academy will be offered to Howe Sound Secondary School students, and it's not just for elite cyclists, it's for any student with a love for biking (almost makes you want to go back to high school!). This is an opportunity for students to experience new adventures, to learn new skills, and to discover their own strengths through cycling. Joel has teamed up with various coaches, local bike shops, cycling clubs and Cycling BC to develop a program that provides students with an incredible opportunity to balance their educational requirements while developing their cycling skills.”

At this point we would like to thank Marc Kazimirski for his dedication and commitment to giving back to those that make ‘cycling possible’ in the communities around BC.

Marc is a passionate cyclist, a former Canadian national team member and is a personal injury lawyer in Vancouver BC. Marc is a cycling advocate and the Kazlaw Community Mountain Biking Award is meant to support cycling in your community.

BC Bike Race is a seven day mountain bike adventure from Vancouver to Whistler. BCBR is gearing up for its seventh year of delivering a life changing experience. The 2014 edition will see over 327km, individually timed Enduro stages and five kid's races in communities along the way.
