SEVEN a documentary by Aaron Larocque about the BC Bike Race has been released to the public. The movie is now available on Pinkbike after a successful screening at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver with over 400 attendees.

The release of SEVEN just days before BC Bike Race gets set to roll, will kick off the 8th eighth edition, July 29th in North Vancouver.

This documentary will showcase the deeper connection between the participants and the journey that is called the ‘Ultimate Singletrack Experience’. This odyssey through the host communities and along this, now famous, circle route through ancient Rainforests, is all set against the rugged scenery of coastal British Columbia.

"BC Bike Race is an event about people from different backgrounds coming together to share and experience some of the best mountain biking in the world. I think 'Seven' really reflects that experience. The people and personalities that shape the event each year are what inspired this film. I'd like to thank the many people that helped make this film possible, but most of all I want to thank the riders whose experience we were allowed to capture". Said director Aaron Larocque

“While each year only 600 riders are able to do the event, making a documentary to share the experience seemed like a great way to include the whole world. Our aim was to make people laugh, cry, to not be too serious and at the end of the day inspire people to get out there and ride their bikes. This journey that is the BC Bike Race is amazing and it’s so difficult to translate cross country riding into a story, but we think in 39 minutes we have more than achieved an amazing, inspirational story”. Said BCBR president and executive producer Dean Payne.

Pull up a chair, grab a beer, relax and enjoy SEVEN available exclusively on Pinkbike to watch for the next 24 hours.

We hope you get stoked for a summer of riding, follow the Race and 2014 story as it all unfolds, June 29-July 5th here: www.bcbikerace.com

Two things I want to do before I die - the bc bike race and high five tipple at the end of the bc bike race.

"And the Cripple beat them ALL!"

Classic. When a 54 yr old amputee rides the techie sections and says that, it's truly inspiring. I'm going to sign up. See you for number 8.

Tippie!!!

Oh man what a chill vibe ,B.C. is beautiful. Hilarious, Tippie chasing after racers in his afro wig. Classic Tip. Salute to the Royal Marines ( not USMC but still badasses lol.) Guy in tree and Swedish cavemen annoying though. Another excellent Laroque effort.

"Way too many people walking down the tech sections ..."

This surprises me. I'd think that to do a race like this you'd have to be a more-than-competent mountain biker with a lot of miles under your belt. ... not the sort of person that walks down tech sections ...

Some people bring bikes that are a little underqualified, I can ride my 100mm 29er on Espresso but it's a bit sketchy... I'd imagine there's stuff gnarlier than that at this race though. Some people have only xc experience so they're not so comfortable on this terrain.

Maybe they should groom the trails to make them comfortable!

If they don't have the skills they shouldn't sign up, it's 7 days of xc in BC... The idea of dumbing down our trails isn't popular for fairly obvious reasons. When I'm old enough I'll sign up, this event looks awesome!

Its a long tough ride and I can see people trying to balance light weight to technical capability. Its a long ride to lug a 150mm trail bike around on. If you give in and take the light bike you might have to walk a couple of tech bits but some of it could easily have been wet exposed rock which is a recipe for injury!

@MX298.... North Van stage is on the most groomed trails we have...... NSMBA has built those trails with one of the goals to be to bring the BCBR back to North Van

 I got that MX298.

That's just stage racing folks. People who don't ride their bikes all year sign up for a week of (insert ULTIMATE, EPIC, EXTREME, FURIOUS, TRANS here), for the opportunity to gather round the water cooler at work the next week and impress the secretary. Maybe if you actually rode your bike, it wouldn't take you 8hrs to finish a stage that the top guys are doing under 3 (under 2 on some?)

Looks like fun and I'd like to do it someday if I could justify dropping $2000 on a week of riding rain or shine. I heard that it was a lot more technical than it appeared in the video, except the Squamish stage. This was just a big infomercial to entice the desk jockeys...

hey racerfacer - from a former sponsored athlete, who is now an old desk jockey with family, kids, home and a business...save your post and read it again in 20 or 25 years.

The best Mountain Biking vid that i ever watched. It is not just the single track that being captured but the emotions of riders. Congrats to each and everyone who joined this race. AWESOME.
