@markyp1965: i was told that money from the car park goes into building the trails, maybe i was misinformed. The cafe makes tons of cash. but still the forestry commission make a lot of money from this which they would not have without mountain bikers, so they should pay for teams of trail builders, which would bring more bikers and therefore more money....respect to the volunteer trail builders...

the car park at the Forrest of Dean is quite often full of cars and vans, all paying to park, the cost of parking has gone up in the last few years. The cafe is always packed and must make a bundle of cash. All this money (so ive been told) gets spent on the trails, so why cant the Forestry Commission pay for a dedicated team of trail builders. If it wasnt for bikers, there would be few people there and much less money...the FC are on to a good thing...
