Yeah, was a little put off with bag checks, and VIP ticket zones. The cops were making people dump their booze (which I can't blame them..) but yeah was pretty subdued to me.

@lostlunchbox: I thought they are currently doing a fair bit of digging on that side as part of their upgrade scheme? I agree though, Im not a fan of Dusty's, BC trail is pretty sweet though.

@burnbern: I've stayed at the Ava a few times, even without it being Crankworks and there being living legends everywhere, it is one of my favourite spots.

Virtually all the hotels in Whistler ban bikes (also ski's and snowboards in winter) from going into rooms. Probably to much damage to rooms. I'd rather the bike valet then some other places with locked bike lockers that have direct to outside doors you have to use.

Shore Play With Remi Gauvin - Video
The riding gets better in the fall. Sept to Nov are probably my favourite times to ride the shore and same with Squamish. Heal up and then get it when its good!

The GoPro Family Cross Is Now Open!
They are mostly. I rode it yesterday and you could take a little dirt jumper down it no problem. Give it about 6 hours to be break bump hell though haha. It is just a little side near the bottom of the mountain though, it is not like the whole hill is that way. Family friendly, etc. Fun little thing though

Hmm okay great! Im pretty stoked now I didn't think there was any DH around here, and as much fun as the XC loops look I'm used to a little more.. oomph.. then I've found so far.

Hmmm 2 hours away. I know its not whistler but maybe I should have taken my DH bike with me when I came east instead of just my trail bike!
That said... think my Stump jumper is gonna be under gunned at this place?

On a whim this winter I rented a fat bike in whistler instead of snow boarding for a day and ripped around the trails and had a blast. If I lived someplace with an actual winter instead of what Vancouver has.. I'd definitely be looking at some sort of fat wheeled bike. It was so fun to see what I could monster truck over on a the ridgit frame with huge tires.

I remember stumbling into an area that had been hit by a forest fire in the middle of a night hike in the dark.. the first tree I touched turned to ash in my hands but the ground was spongy because there was so much growing back. It was pretty unreal. This was an amazing video showing that growth after the destruction.. and some pretty awesome riding. Top points boys.
