Pinkbike Poll: How Many Volume Spacers Do You Run?
@onawalk: It was a Mattoc, I got that part mixed up. For the ones who are sharing I am glad to hear of other stories of success with Manitou. I expected others would have different experiences but wanted to share what I had went through. @MikerJ Again, I just wanted to share my experience as I see Manitou recommended highly by many Pinkbikers but without any complaint. I feel they, like most manufacturers, are not without their faults. I would imagine that there are users here that have a similar story from each of the suspension brands out there. I'm not looking to bring anyone down but thought it to be fair that my experience be shared. I ended up in the same boat as you. I have been running the Fox 36 series for long enough now that I am quite familiar with servicing, have all the oils/service kits around, and have so far been nothing but reliable. I thought about jumping over to a Lyrik but ended up getting a good deal on my latest Fox 36. I have had some Cane Creek products in the past and can say nothing but good things so far about their support and parts availability. A good riding buddy used to swear by DVO and they also have provided him with amazing support. He needed to replace his uppers after a nasty crash so he gave them a call and they provided him with the exact parts needed at a reasonable price.

Pinkbike Poll: How Many Volume Spacers Do You Run?
I keep seeing Manitou referenced in the comments sections and I have to agree that the Mezzer was an amazing fork for the partial season that it lasted. While out on a ride I suddenly felt the compression give out and could detect a harsh knock during hard compressions thereafter. I walked the bike home to open up the fork to find that the damper internals must have come loose and impacted each other. I reached out to Manitou support and they refused to warranty it so I asked if they could sell me the rebound/compression damper and a few small parts that were also damaged. They ghosted me and never replied to follow up emails. This occurred just before a bike trip so I ended up buying a Fox 36 which I decided to keep since I was having trouble sourcing replacement parts for the Mezzer. You can see the evidence here: https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2637765/ Due to the lack of warranty, poor response that I received from Manitou, and how they left me hanging, I cannot in good conscience recommend their products to anyone and refuse to purchase any of their products going forward.
