 They should never have named it the loop of doom, maybe the loop of fuck it I am going back to the hotel. Then all would have been good.

 They might as well have named it the loop of AGHHHHH... Crunch.

 he almost had it...looks like he underestimated the effect of centrifugal force and couldn't catch-up on his off center trajectory. I'm not a pro...just speculation...

 @pidesd: that's pretty much what he said happened, to much force and he just collapsed.

 @Scotty7447: 40' loop, 80' roll-in. Way too much.

 There is a fine line between big balls and just stuid. The loop he made he never had a chance. Needed to be more fluid as opposed to such a harsh loop at the top

 @Krzymndyd: the reason its a tighter loop at the top is because as he goes up for the first quarter of it he is loosing speed, you really don't know what you're talking about. The one he made/rode at SOF was on a smaller scale but the exact same shape.

 @coadymacmillan: agreed.

He doesn't have the speed or downforce to complete a full circular loop, the way its designed makes sense if you understand that.
  • 5 1
 @Krzymndyd: I love how people that have never done something are critics on the subject. It's like people who never have kids always know exactly how to raise them.

 While I agree with the modern theory, the stunt from 1905 that he based it on does appear to be more circular.

 @Krzymndyd: In mountain biking theres a fine line between stupid and fun.
  • 1 0
 @coadymacmillan: "losing speed" would be a better way to speel that. good times. Wink
  • 3 1
 @properp: but to be fair.... It's maybe just a hair different than what the dudes on Jackass do... Which imo doesn't make it comparably praiseworthy as legitimate progression of the sport

 I don't think Matt claimed it was progression to recreate a 100+ year old stunt. He just thought it would be awesome to do.
