Mark Weir (WTB-Fox Racing Shox) will be joining everyone at this year's Urge Cabo Verde event and he's stoked to be attending.

Quick catch up with Mark inside,

Mark after the Urge Kenya in 2009, welcome back on the Urge Cabo Verde! Are you excited to be part of this adventure once again?
I'm looking forward to the adventures and glad that I could be a part of this great reason for riding my bike.

In Kenya, your bike had been lost in transportation...
I did lose my bike for Kenya and it is always hard to ride someone else's bike that is not your own. Fred was nice enough to let me use his and I am very thankful. It was much better then running the course on foot.

You'll represent USA in this adventure, hard challenge ahead?
Not hard, it just means that I'm not expected to win. In this style of event the USA will always be the under dog. Being the under dog is something I'm used too. I will represent with a smile.

Have you ever ride on Volcano like Fogo?
This will be a chance of lifetime for me and I'm excited to ride this moon like land scape.

What are your feelings with regards to the humanitarian actions included in this event? Is it important for you that mountain bikers begin to give back little contributions to the people living in the countries where you ride?
It feels much better knowing that our hard efforts on the bike are not always a solo score. To help others while helping your own soul is a win win situation. I'm happy to help and happy to be given the opportunity to help.

I like how the humanitarian aspects plays into the URGE events and they bring together big name riders to help bring more attention to the whole package. Looking forward to seeing it all play out.

Such poor grammar in this post. Pinkbike, please review your articles before publishing online. Also, please use proper formatting for an interview where the question gets bolded and prefaced with "PB:" and Mark Weir's answers get prefaced with "MW:". You used to do this in the past. Please don't get lazy on us.

The article was translated (no excuse I know, but still...) and as for the formatting, you'll notice that it's off on the whole site as PB is making changes, but not taking the site down, only some functionalities are down for the weekend.

I doubt Weir will be riding at this event since he suffered a pretty major crash recently and is currently hospitalized. He has a few broken ribs and some internal bleeding.

The event is at the end of Jan/Early Feb, and he's a Manimal, I think he'll be there and do really well.
