9th Dakine Trailfox at Flims Switzerland

Last weekend say the 9th edition of the Dakine Trailfox in Flims Switzerland. A unique Freeride event which is definitly worth doing it.

The 9th Dakine Trailfox in Flims, Switzerland offered everything the Freeride Community likes. Three races on three 3 different trails in three days, the Nighttrail during Friday night, the Sunset Trail on Saturday evening and the the Highnoontrail on Sunday. Beside a really relaxed atmosphere and great Red Bull Party on Saturday night also the weather good was in a good mood and offered perfect mountain weather. Nearly 280 Riders found their way up to Flims for the Trailfox.

The modus ist easy. Three different races and in each race the rider gets the points for his place. 1st gets one point, 2nd two points...,.15th 15 points.... and in the end the winner is the rider with the fewest points on his back.

Nighttrail
On Friday the first stage is the nighttrail which starts at 22:30 and the last rider is in at about 2:00. There’s nearly no light on the trail through the woods of Flims, so every rider needs his own light. As there is no uplift or shuttle every riders has to go up to the start line by his own. It´s amazing to the see light signs of the riders coming down in the dark.

Sunsettrail
The Sunset Trail starts on Saturday 19:00 and is a mixture of Northshoretrails, Wallrides, bridges, jumps, natural trails and one big road gap for the pros.

Highnoontrail
On Sunday it was time for the Highnoontrailrace on the Runca Trail. The only stage where the riders had the luxury to go up the hill by lift.
The sun was burning down at 12:00 and the longest and hardest stage was ready to go.
5.8 km with about 680 m of descending quite a few pedaling section, northshores and rocky sections. The start modus were 20 riders in each group with a time gap between each group. First the ladies and then the men.
