Foes FFR DH Prototype Has Two-Stage Damper to Boost Negative Travel - Sea Otter 2014
@poozank The neg travel isn't really for power here, its for braking. the neg travel should help the wheel keep contact with the ground when most others would be skipping over bumps, this allows the rider to brake harder and later and maintain better control, all of which should lead to more speed. If it works? we will just have to wait and see.

Pinkbike Poll: If Cost Were No Object...
The gucci bike designer in me is a roadie, so at a cost is no issue price point, looks are extremely important, and nothing looks better than a custom Ti bike. It would probably be a Firefly or 333 w/ custom paint, disc brakes and DA 9000. Very close second would be an Argonaut disc, and close in third would be a custom lugged bike (tube material doesn't matter) with black or navey tubes and bonze/brass or chrome/silver lugs respectively.

Talking 650B DH Bikes with Trek
Schurter has been riding a 650 bike not a 29, Scott initially built the bike at his request. He is a smaller guy and was running neg rise slammed stems on 29ers. At the top end of the sport you can assume that all competitors are of relatively the same fitness and skill level, therefore the deciding factors are going to be the equipment, luck, and whether or not they are ON on that particular day.

Talking 650B DH Bikes with Trek
@jclnv, its doesn't just feel faster, it is faster. 29ers dominate the marathon XC field where smoothness and momentum are extremely important. and 650's are making their way into WC XC because they offer the 29er benefits with better acceleration. its only gravity riders that are desperately clinging to the 26 in wheel size.

Pinkbike Poll: Are You a Fair Weather Rider?
Cold means nothing to me, heat on the other hand... also stay off the trails when the weather is such you can damage them, and that is no fun for anyone. rain does keep me off the road tho.
