Transition Covert 26 - Tested
Totally dig Transition bikes to the fullest, but damn, the price of these rigs (other brands too) are getting waaaay outta control in terms of pricing. Seriously though, $4200 with only X7 (SLX level) stuff mixed in...?! Seems like anything with an XT groupo these days now is pushing 5K+... ACK!!!! WTF is going on?! We aren't all high paid doctors and lawyers!
I suppose the best thing to do these days is to pick up a year-end season blowout on the cheap... or a get a really nice "gently" used 2 year old bike with its usual 50% depreciated value.
Ahh well- just complaining since it's tax week :-)

Pacific Northwest Deep Winter Gear Review - 10 Suggestions to Beat the Chill
Picked up a pair of last years model Dakine White knucks on the cheeeeap! I live in PNW and they do wonders. The coldest I've ridden with them was in slight drizzly rain/snow mix at about 27 degrees(f), right near their offices in Hood River (Post Canyon to be exact.) Anything over 40(f) and you will probably start to sweat.

SRAM Rise 60 Carbon 29er Wheels - Tested
I hope in 3-5 years these become mainstream and affordable on a consumer level.
These wheels kinda remind of the days of Spin vs Spinergy mountain wheels... but that was like 12 years ago and they be looong gone.
