Roval Traverse Hubs/Wheels

$60 GBP
I am selling my Specialized Roval Traverse hubs/wheels from, I believe, 2008. I say hubs, although they are complete wheels, because the rims have been damaged a reasonable amount and I don't feel comfortable charging someone for complete wheels even though they are arguably still usable. I bought these wheels a long time ago as an impulse purchase and quickly found that the rim could not withstand 'all mountain' riding for a person of my size (6ft4, 90kg) and having only used them maybe a dozen times I retired them and forgot all about them. I found that the metal of the DT swiss rims was far too soft and even with only moderate force could be bent and dented. The hubs are gorgeous with the front being 24 hole and the rear being 28. I imagine these could be built up into a very nice pair of wheels although most likely for XC rather than all-mountain as I believe it is hard to find strong enough rims for the number of spoke on the front hub. As shown in the photos there are a number of dents and scuffs on the rims with a bit of buckle on the rear that I'm sure can be straightened. The hubs themselves are very nice, straight-pull hubs that take cartridge bearings. The front hub can be run as a 20mm bolt through or as a QR with the rear just being QR. There are also tubeless valves included if you would like to run them this way. The bearings in the front hub are still pretty smooth however 1 or 2 the 4 or 5 rear hub bearings feel like they grind a little. Again being cartridge bearings they can be replaced I'm sure. The bearings in the freehub are still in good condition. I think them being sat isle for a few years made things in the rear hub bearings degrade a little. These are being sold as complete wheels as it seems silly to remove the hubs for sale even though they can still be used. They would work fine for XC riding with a lighter rider I'm sure, but as said previously I am pricing these as just the hubs due to the rims not being in good condition. The wheels cost £600 new in 2008 so I do feel that my asking price is reasonable for a good pair of tough, lightweight hubs that could possible use a bearing replacement on one of them. I am happy to discuss price or any questions you might have on the hubs/wheels.
