Wow, that was a brilliant video! In hindsight I shouldn't have expected anything less, but those trails look amazing. Definitely will have to figure out a way to make a trip there at some point.
and how do you find Hafjell compared to Are bikepark, which place is better in your opinion? because we were in are 2 years ago and it was the best riding for us and we are thinking about some trip to Hafjell.
Are is a huge bike park compared to Hafjell but Hafjell is the best !!! In Hafjell each track is awesome, smartly build, clean and shaped to push your limits (higher than Are).
Yeah, thats what I was thinking too. Just with less people... Does Whistler get too crowded these days? Its just a feeling I get from some of the clips I´ve seen. Not like that stops me from dreaming of going on day!
I was there for Crankworks, arguably the busiest time of the year at the bike park. There were a ton of people, but I never felt it was over crowded. They handle the crowds very well, and if you're up early (as with skiing) you're going to get more trams than most.
So while there will be more people Whistler than say Silverstar, it'll still be awesome!
A couple years back a british magazine (might have been MountainbikingUK) wrote an article about hafjell and they said it was the "scandinavian whistler".
I was in Whistler during crankworx last summer as well and i fully agree with @BadgerBacker. And it was a really good atmosphere.
Does it still worth to spend few days in Mt. Washington guys? We are coming over BC next summer Pretty keen to hear from your good places also! One of us is in Vancouver right now, and keen to spend shooting and riding time as soon as the rain and snow are gone
I spent two days there for the race last year, the monster mile is sick, but they said they weren't going to run it again, and its only open for the race. The park has no other single track than the race course, only machine built "jump" trails. Which in my opinion are not well built at all, then again I build a lot of jumps. All in all, if your going through the island might as well stop by, but I got bored there after a day or so. Plus the people who work at the mountain are d-bags. There were issues with the lift tickets, they almost kicked us out for drinking a beer during awards, and the only restaraunt/bar closed at 8 or 9pm even as twenty racers were about to walk in for dinner. I can't support a place like that, and won't ever again. Good thing I heard they are closing the bike park anyways, so might not even be open.
They might not have quote on quote swiss alp "single track" but there was lots of good trails going when I was up ( this past summer), which was during the race and I never even got a chance to look at the Monster mile. Not sure why you CANT support a lift operated bike park, are we getting a little spoiled these days? When Whistler opened back in the day we couldnt beleive the good news, ski racks? for bikes? waaaaat? and now smaller Mountains are trying to do their thing as well and we're shooting them down because you didnt get to drink your beer, lets look at the big picture here. But yea, Good thing they're closing it....
Morzine/Chatel/Les Gets could learn a lot from these guys. As much as I love Morzine etc there's a lot of work required there to get to this kind of standard if you like man made trails!
Sweet as, Snorre gave us a look on top, even bigger and so sick! that will make us come again i guess He told us about Soderstrom did a video to count how long he spends in air on that trail, have u heard about?
