Sitting at your desk in your cubicle dreaming of far off places is perhaps one of our most shared past times. So often we wish we were somewhere else doing something else. How often do you get lost in your thoughts? Lost in your memories? Lost in place? Enter our world of beautiful forests, endless rock slabs, peaks and spires, gravel roads with 360 degree views and ridge lines that seem to go on forever.
Come with us. Breathe in. Breathe out. Let your mind take you from the mundane to the wild. You've been there before and you'll be there again soon. Journey to the place where the forest is your greenroom and the the sun illuminates the rivers, lakes and waves with just a touch of gold. Toss comfort into the wind and jump into the unknown... the unconventional... the real adventure. The vehicle? Your bike. Your companion is your shadow and whatever nature sends your way. Ride something new - something different. Because you can, and because it feels so good to push beyond limits.
Charge harder. And while the scenery passes by in a whirl of color, take time to soak in every sound, sight, and smell. Watch the canopy sway above you and the fog drift aimlessly through a maze of trunks. Watch the river wind through the woods, and note the air brushing against your skin. Can you feel it yet? Can you place yourself amongst the giant trees? The coastal mist? Can you feel the pavement or the dirt or the rock underneath your tires? Can you transcend into that place of pure magic?
We all love to let go and find ourselves away from everything and in the middle of nothing. It's why cycling brings us all together. Whether on the road throwing a smirk to those stuck in traffic, ripping perfect ribbons of brown singletrack, dancing with gravity and balance along a steep cliff ledge, or simply riding out to your favorite quiet spot, the bike is the universal glue that keeps us all moving forward. Find yourself. Get lost.
| The Diamondback Haanjo Carbon Trail is the perfect weapon to go out and get lost. We threw Kerry Werner on the bike for the first time the first day of this shoot and didn't really know what to expect. Kerry's talent and the durability of this bike blew my mind. Kerry put this thing through the ringer like nothing I've ever seen. Smashing jumps, singletrack, and miles and miles of gravel and road riding and there was never an issue. No flats. No mechanicals. Nary a tool needed. Turns out gravel bikes can pretty much destroy anything you throw at them. It was actually fun to try to find things he couldn't ride. That was not an easy feat. He's a beast, and the bike is up for some seriously huge adventures. -Lacy Kemp, Director/Producer |
