Mick needs no introduction, "the Chuck Norris of Mountain Bikes", and silver medalist in this year's World Championships. Huge props to Mick for everything he has accomplished!

Forrest Riesco joined the Spank Industries Grassroots Team in 2010. His dedication to training, competition, promotional activities, and community service made him an obvious choice as a young ambassador. Through a lot of hard work, Forrest climbed his way through the junior ranks in Canada, and through the GR roster with Spank, earning a spot on the Canadian National Dh Team and a pro position with Spank in 2012! Forrest exemplifies all that is good in our sport, and Spank is proud to be behind him!

Spank Industries accepts Grassroots program rider applications in October of each season. For more information on the Spank "Disciples" or how to apply, please contact info@spank-ind.com or visit our website www.spank-bikes.com

That handlebar technology must be insane, look how excited Mik is about it!!

Let's be honest, as nice as new kit is, what can be so amazing about a new bar to give an edge?! A few grams lighter? Not gonna make a noticeable difference to anyone whilst riding. Different material? What could be better than carbon except some kind of super material that flexes loads to absorb shock whilst being super stiff, which is somewhat of an oxymoron. Come on, bars is bars, but you got to try to say something to keep the sponsor happy.

 I think he was ironic...

That's exactly why Mik gets paid by them. It must be incredibly difficult in the component industry to stand out, because yea, stems, bars, and pedals don't usually make or break a race run. To have one of the best racers in the world stand by your stuff is probably very expensive, and I'm surprised he didn't talk more about the product.

lol exactly what i was thinking when i heard him say that

Angle? Width? Stiffness? I'm sure there are some out of the box thinking that someone could make improvements on. When these WC races are decided by fractions of a second, every little bit counts.

Did anyone else notice that at 0:45, Forrest is running Race Face bars?

Dirt drops for the next WC season, I'm calling it now!

Forrest rides for raceface. Just cause you ride for a company doesn't mean you have to use everysingle thing that company makes.

He has to say it, sponsor contracts etc....

"Just cause you ride for a company doesn't mean you have to use everysingle thing that company makes." - Brilliant! I will attempt to get sponsorship from 27 different bolt companies for each individual bolt on my bicycle.

Mnshreder, I'm surprised you noticed a bar, but not the bright yellow deemax on Mik's bike! As said above, you don't have to use all the components from your sponsors!

Hey Guys...Mike D from Spank here. Keep in mind that Mick and Forrest filmed this video at Crankworx, between practice sessions and multiple events. Mick is in very high demand from sponsors and media...and that particular day did practice, then a film session up on the mountain, then a couple of interviews, and finally literally ran to our session, before heading back to practice. Try doing that, and all the time with cameras and mics in your face, and still keep an energetic smile on! Mick is a legend on and off the bike...respect. Rakeothon...ha...you just don't get it. Spank has invested millions over the years into development and manufacturing facilities, and spends years on the development and testing of new products before they get to the market. Anyone who thinks a highly weight optimized gravity handlebar is just a bent tube with a logo slapped on it, just doesn't have any idea what it takes. Mick is working with Spank on the testing of a new multi-material technology handlebar that will have an impact on the way we ride, but its a long and costly process....one we need his level of experience and maturity for! Oh, and Forrest runs Spank Industries Wheelsets...Mick runs cockpit. Sorry if that confused anyone.
