Medium Brodie Dynamo Hybrid/Commuter Bike

$400 CAD
I have a Brodie Dynamo hybrid/commuter bike for sale. Purchased this in Victoria a few years ago for getting around, though barely used it, meaning it's in like-new condition. Now that I live in Calgary and commute by vehicle it's just taking up space in my garage. This is an extremely solid and light-weight hybrid/commuter bike that gets excellent reviews. Size is medium (20" frame). Comes with Avid disc brakes (front & rear), as well as full Shimano components. Asking $400, though willing to negotiate and open to offers! Item is sold in "as is" condition.

Purchased new around 2003 for over $3,000. Asking $700, though willing to negotiate and open to offers! Item is sold in "as is" condition.

Thule Roof Rack

$800 CAD
Thule roof rack system for a VW Golf purchased from Racks Unlimited last year and used a fair bit. Selling because I traded the Golf in for a truck and I don't exactly have a use for this anymore. System includes: 480 Traverse Foot Pack 1 pair 58" load bars Traverse Fit Kit #105 (for a VW Golf/Jetta) Locks and one key ***UPDATE*** All Sidearm Bike Mounts sold. Sorry kids Racks Unlimited has told me that if you have a different car model you need to buy a different Fit Kit (about $75-100). It's a great rack system - everything from a Rocky Mountain Flatline to a full carbon road bike has been put in this rack and driven all over the place (including back from Whistler). Sadly it must go so I can pay for my truck :( PS: By "Will ship locally" I mean I am planning a few road trips this season and am willing to throw the kit in the back of the truck and drive it out for you.

Trek 6000 WSD 16.5"

$1000 CAD
2010 Trek 6000 WSD 16.5" hard tail purchased from Ridley's. Ridden for one summer and then I upgraded to a fully during Bowcycle's Boxing Day Sale. All stock (the 2012 has hydraulic disc brakes, these are mechanical) (does the Trek archive not work for anyone else?) except for the front end which I upgraded to a Fox Talas RLC with a Mavic CrossRide rim. I built it up with the full intention of riding the crap out of it, but then my athletic goals changed and I want to make room for a more road-oriented bike. Upgraded at the end of last year and then stuck on a trainer for the winter. I popped that rear tube when I changed the training tire back to the stock Bontragers and I didn't have a spare tube handy. I do now and will change it for you! By "Will ship locally" I mean I'm planning more than a few road trips this year and am willing to stick this in the back of the truck with the other bikes and bring it out for you.

Why No Y?
I was totally going to make a comment about the clothing issue, but you already hit it on the nose. Hurray!

Why No Y?
Man, the best part of these articles on women in biking is TOTALLY the comments! Everyone goes ape sh*t and at least half of the comments have terrible grammar and spelling (grammar, by the way, is the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit). As a female engineer and mountain biker and outdoor freak, there is definitely a part of me that would LOVE to write this article from a woman's point of view, but I won't. Because it will be a lot of (grammatically correct) writing, no pictures for silly people to ogle at, pictures of sick trails, mean feats of daring and general inspiration for riding, and probably (almost definitely) a lot of sweeping generalizations. Because as a woman, I'm not immune to the problem of trying to describe other people's experiences, either. And then the interwebs would blow up in reaction to this theoretical article and we would not have progressed as a community, again. Solution: (I'll) (we'll) shut up, get stoked, make friends, and enjoy the ride. Ok, mini-rant over. I think the author made a lot of great points that I agree with and often reflect my own experience in riding so far. The "dude" paragraph is so funny and is making my Friday-at-work-before-a-long-weekend that much better.

Bontrager Front Wheelset

$20 CAD
Front wheel pulled off a Trek 6000 WSD. Used for one season as a newb' into mountain biking (i.e. some scrapes and falls but not ridden aggressively). Bontrager/Trek original equipment. Shimano hub, quick release. Honestly, I don't know the specs on it that's why I took a bunch of photos. $20 obo - I just want to get rid of it to be honest. Would make a decent wheel replacement on your beater commuter if you have one.
