April Online Deals
You're nuts if you think that local shops with store fronts can compete with these prices. Do you know how much these websites buy? Chain Reaction used (maybe still do) buy pallets of cranks from Race Face, pallets! Compare that to the one or two that at store front bike shop would buy, and who do you think is getting a better price? When I worked for a shop in Vancouver, I did Shimano's online training and in turn they give you an industry discount of about 35% off MSRP, and I could still get parts cheaper from Chain Reaction! The current bike market isn't sustainable for the higher end crowd. You won't be seeing a ton of shops selling to us pinkbikers for long because we can install and maintain parts on our bikes, but you'll always see the shops tailoring to the average consumer who just wants a bike. Don't complain about shops not offering same day service on brake bleeds if the brake you are taking in to be bled is from an online retailer, that's a problem the consumer created not the shops.
