I'm 64 & still shredding, just hurts longer in case of a big one.
My Chiro is my god.
Was DH master world champ at 50 in 2008, there was a guy there in his 70, riding the track all day long.
Quite impressive.

Just compare with US SX where they've +- 28 races, with only 1 or 2 weekends off.
DH World Cup, is really soft.
Intense but with a really soft calendar.

I had it in 20001 and had surgery.
Nothing mandatory, you can choose to have it or not.
On the long run it's better to have it.
A friend of mine choose no surgery, 10 years after he hardly regrets his choice.
