The Scott Enduro Cup presented by Vittoria is expanding the series to four stops in 2016 by adding Angel Fire, NM (June 11-12) to the 2016 schedule. The remaining three stops include Moab, UT (May 7), Sun Valley, ID (June 25-26*) and a final stop in Park City, UT (TBA). Athlete capacity is limited and racers are encouraged to register early to secure their place in the competition and to receive early bird pricing. Registration will open February 16 at 11 a.m. MST on endurocupmtb.com.

"We are excited to expand our series by adding a fourth stop in Angel Fire, NM," said Scott Enduro Cup Event Director Ben Nelson. "The terrain at Angel Fire will greatly complement the existing variety of trails offered at the other three races. Angel Fire also puts a second two-day race on the series schedule in addition to Sun Valley."

The Scott Enduro Cup presented by Vittoria will award $12,000 cash to the open class throughout the series. Amateur racers will also be awarded with product. New this season, Vittoria is sponsoring a prime (preem), the Vittoria Bolt, at each race location for the fastest downhill time of a designated stage. One male and one female racer will win the prime awarding each $100 cash prize. Winners can only win the prime one time and the prime is only eligible to the open category.

"We're really happy to see the Scott Enduro Cup grow into four events," said Scott Sports Bike Marketing Manager Zack Vestal. "Our partners at MSI have done a terrific job of building this series while maintaining the quality of each event. Having our brand associated with these high-caliber competitions in iconic locations is a tremendous 'win' for Scott."

Scott Enduro Cup registration is open to men and women, professional and amateur adults and juniors ages 13-18. Riders can choose to participate in a single race or purchase a season pass. All registration fees include a T-shirt and lunch in addition to the race entry. The Angel Fire, Sun Valley and Park City registration fees will also include lift tickets for resort race days, which are not applicable to the Moab stop.

Really hope the Moab course is fun this year. Folks were grumbling about it last year. I couldn't make it last year, but looking to this time around.

Last year's Klondike Bluffs course was a big improvement over Mag 7 from the years before

Eh, it was classic Moab riding. It'd be sick to have a more DH orientated course but that could be said for 80% of the stages throughout the year. Its still insanely fun and it really shows your weak spots as a rider (like being able to carry speed).

Yeah moab was fun just different.

I thought the Moab course was pretty good. A bit pedally, not a ton of vert or steepness, but it was still interesting and 100% pedal transfers with no resorts made it feel more down-to-earth.

This season, I'm hoping to not read comments online from people complaining about the courses in races they did not enter and probably had zero intent of ever entering...

@Iccomz Calm down man, I was honestly trying to see what the consensus was from last year. I in no way complained about the course (because, as I said, I couldn't make it). I raced Sun Valley and it was the best put on race I've been to, so this year I'm making a point to check out more. Including Moab..

Sorry for the snarky response, man.

Do you seriously know some guys who didn't have a good time spending a May day out at Klondike with a group of other fast people?

I read the post race articles and some folks were grumbling. I know you should take comment sections with a grain of salt, but figured I'd ask folks who were there. Klondike looks fun! Coming from St. George, I'm looking forward to racing and enduro on slickrock for the first time.

Take it with a grain of salt because reviews are completely dependent on the person. The few who were complaining could have been expecting a completely smoothed out BS bike park setup, or stages where little pedaling would be involved and were too out of shape to deal with anything else. You'll have a good friggen time. Its always been awesome since the first one in Moab. I'd prefer different types of stages but that's all personal preference. There are way better trails to have it on but Moab is unique in how strict the circumstances are in holding such an event.

Hmm, Park City. Could this mean the rumour of Deer Valley could be true?
  • 3 0
It's most likely because The Canyons is not the name anymore, as it goes by Park City now. Vail Resorts has their whole "biggest ski resort in North America" thing going.

What's the Deer Valley rumor? Used to ride there years ago before I moved to AZ.
  • 2 0
BiNARY, I've been hearing rumour of people scouting out Deer Valley for an enduro race, not necessarily part of the Enduro Cup, for a few years now. Combine the newer trails with old school trails and I think they'd have a winner.

It would be interesting to see what trails they would incorporate if they did put on an enduro race. I think It would be hard to incorporate the newer trails with the older ones. When you take Tidal Wave you are only on the trail a minute or two before the turn off for Thieves, and Fire Swamp, which are the trails I'd want to race on. After those turn offs you pretty much want to stay on Tidal Wave since there are few other options, such as Homeward Bound. The new Twist and Shout is awesome, and would be pretty sweet to race on also. Go Ride should bring back their Super D and DH races there.

In an Enduro format, there could be a stage in Tidal Wave, a stage on Thieves Forest, AND a stage on Fire Swamp. That would make for a variety of trails that would show different riders strengths and weaknesses. I would not particularly enjoy a race with stages that only suited me...
