Nope. I just don't like Shimano brand and that's it. Like I don't like milk, Justin Bieber or fast-food but there's a millions of people who love all that and that's ok:) Only a question of personal taste-nothing offensive.

There's nothing hard in washing fork lowers after the ride so I don't think that it's such a problem. But I never heard before about problems with salt and snow. Anyone here who broked their magnesium gears because riding during the winter?
