The game has undergone a ton of improvements for release on this platform. I'm excited to announce the game now features an intense "first person" viewpoint, an excellent idea proposed by several members of the Pinkbike community.

Screenshots from Shred Downhill Mountain Biking - available on Steam

I've been lucky enough to have visited and ridden my bike in some of the most stunning landscapes in the world, each having their own unique aesthetic and natural ambience. The graphical capabilities of modern PC hardware allowed much greater freedom in translating the atmosphere of different environments into the game. Each level has been re-built from the ground up with dense foliage, atmospheric lighting, environment fog, weather, real-time lighting/shadows and texture detail.

The bikes and riders have also had a visual overhaul, with new paint jobs and more defined characters. Additional component detail includes tyre knobbles, brake levers, fork seals, stem bolts and top caps!

Shred Downhill Mountain Biking Video Game - New Content Available

A whole load of original new bangin' tunes (with playlist shuffling) are included, along with tweaked level design and Xbox game controller support - giving the game a much more intuitive, tactile and immersive playing experience! A new level pack "Freeride World Tour" is already in production and Oculus Rift support is planned for the near future.

I'm extremely grateful for the support and feedback I've received (both good and bad!) throughout the duration of the project. The Pinkbike community really has been invaluable in getting a grass-roots project like this off the ground and as such you all get a mention in the games credits! I've felt for years that Mountain Biking has lacked exposure in the mainstream video games market and I really hope this latest release does our sport justice.

Happy Shredding!

Before I buy it I just wanna make sure there's options to customize the bike. I want to ride an efatbike with procore and hella stem spacers. And have one clip less pedal and one flat, because I'm pretty good at turning right but lefts are hard. Not an ambiturner.

^^^^That's too f@ckin' funny! Almost spilt out my coffee, is you real name Derek Zoolander?

Don't forget the option to customize the rider! If there's no enduro-specific spandex with an enduro specific fanny pack and enduro specific matching sash, you can forget about it.

@Jimmy0 you had me at "hella"

@sicsoma you can ride your actual bike AND you can appreciate all the time and effort that went into making this game relatively true to our discipline of riding.

@driftmonster the price is relatively low man, like less than that of a tube or a bottle of stans notubes... and you get hours of fun. i'd say try reconsidering the cost and you might find it worth a measly 5 or 6 bucks.
  • 2 0
The cost of tube is justified because I get hours of fun outside , on my bike , riding . Not in front of a Pc .

Yep... Thats pretty much what my arm does every time i do a nac nac...

This is available on Steam for £4.31 at 10% off but from the reviews it doesn't look promising but i'll hold judgement till I actually play it. We've all seen great looking games that fall flat in the gameplay. Props tho for a one man band.

Boy would I just love if this had a bit more realistic standards for jump sizes and trail layouts. I get that it is a low budget game, but still. So over playing biking games where you can hit a 75' gap 200 feet out to flat and ride off like it is no big deal.

I save so much money on lift passes by only playing this as a training regiment.

Love it when people say others should just ride their actual bike instead of playing games like this. They must be pretty shit hot riders if they spend every waking minute of every day riding their bikes.

when you think that Graham agassiz does this in real life
