The flat to uphill landing is no problem when you fly that low and that far, there's nearly no impact there. The problem was that it seemed that he didn't do anything on the lip. If he would have bunnyhopped he could have made it.

idk if you know so I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt but its really hard to bunny hop a 40lb DH bike when the tranny is only like 3ft

When you're hitting stuff like that boosting off a lip is nothing that requires special skills. Much better than just rolling over it like he did. (if it's still not clear: I ment hit it like a kicker and not hit it like a drop)

He slipped a pedal while on the gas = trip over the bars. Lol
It just sent him forward unexpectedly and he couldn't get his weight back, got his bars turned and right over he went.
Snapping a chain while in full gas mode can have the same effect.

#4. My kid was telling me about this jump and when I saw it I was like "nah, that's super sketchy nobody would ever actually try to hit it." Guess I was wrong. Hope dude is OK...that crash looked like something off Downhill Supreme.

#4 - Oh the buffalo jump in fish creek park. I've ridden (my brakes) down that sketchy piece, but never would have the guts to try gapping the water at the bottom. Saw the jump down there last week and though...hmmm...I don't see it working. Kudos for trying and for the great video.
