Raceface parts back in the day were so much better than the stock OEM stuff that came on bikes that it was a no brainer to buy raceface stuff to upgrade your bike. Now that the technology has made all the OEM stuff on par with raceface, there is less reason to upgrade to raceface, and therefore harder for rf to compete. Also the top dogs that spec parts also have their own crank/bar technology (truvativ) and probably entice bike companies to spec with their components. It's like aftermarket car stereos. If my car comes with an 8 speaker bose 600w system out of the fatory, I'm not going to go look at upgrading it. Back in the day everyone bought and installed aftermarket stuff
