After releasing two short web clips together, Fabian Kluhs and the shizofanatic crew decided it was time for an bigger project and started to make plans for an feature length movie in 2011.

But the first hype got destroyed pretty quick as it turned out harder than expected to find sponsors and supporters for the project. Between its bigger brothers snowboarding and mountain biking most people smiled at the SMX and didn`t give it the recognition needed. Over the years the crew kept shooting from time to time and never lost faith to find the right moment to realize their ambitious film project. But with no budget available and no prospective deals in the future everyone realized it was time to draw a line.

So in 2014 the crew decided to gather all the existing, unreleased footage and make an pared-down indie version of the originally planned film. Not as highly polished, but double the fun and definitely not the last thing you will see from shizofanatic!

Everyone involved put a lot of work, time, money and passion into this short-film. If you like what you see please support us and share "UNDEAD" all over the web!

Imagine if you could get rid of the handlebars and suspension and just strap the slidey bits directly to your feet... yeah that would be sick.

Just like seeing someone sending the Canyon Gap on a scooter.
  • 2 1
i can see its less popular, but its a great invention, on ice you can go bigger then on real ground...not completly true fmx - ski but its still a mtb ski thing... its just all very diffrent what you do altough there are great similarities
how do you brake with it ? i guess just turn like skiing but its totaly diffrent then ski

nice video btw

Anyone else find it hilarious near the end when he talks about pushing the limits and they show 20 crash shots in a row of a 10ft. jump transfer from one expensive, fully custom-made "snowbike" to another? There were some cool shots in there but most of it was kinda crappy family fun. If you want to make an impact at this time of year, make it about adapting your bikes to snow bikes, instead of trying to create a new thing out of already two small markets for no reason at all. It looks awesome and incredibly fun to do but there isn't a big enough market for this kind of toy.
  • 3 2
Lots of ways to mod up your bikes to make it into a ski bike but you need to know how to do it properly or you might be getting hurt... and you can make those toys yourself if your a good welder or fortunate enough to know someone what is a qualified welder...
  • 2 1
True that giraffeinpurple, welding is great to know, of all different kinds

Go that way really fast, and if something gets in your way, turn.

Its Almost summer time Snow Bikes are irrelevant. I'm ready for Whistlers opening day video with Tippie!
  • 4 2
 Exactly! Its beginning of season!
  • 12 2
Sorry but that comment is a typical case of American ignorance to the rest of the world. Pinkbike caters to riders from everywhere and if you didn't know, when the northern hemisphere is in summer the Southern Hemisphere is in winter.
  • 3 2
have to disagree not really ignorant..he never said anything bad about people in the southern hemisphere and for him its obviously just about summer which hes clearly stoked for, which im sure anyone would be at the start of their season. Im beyond stoked to ride! we just stopped getting snow in Alberta two weeks ago and its the middle of may..

hmmm.....not sure about 3 skiis. I made my own with a full suspension giant frame, 2 ski blades, and a diy mounting kit for them that I made up. actually was a blast when I hiked up and took it down Bridger Bowl ski resort a few years ago.

Did anyone consider the fork oil after hours of spending time in freezing temperatures?
  • 3 0
for more publicity and for more fame in this sport you need more and better footage of real powder stuff like that 2 second clip at 4:11
  • 8 0
We had bad luck with our powder shootings but it`s no problem to ride the SMX in deep snow. Elias and Matthias had some good Powder Sessions but unluckily not captured on video, they use bigger skies by for that. In the beginning they cut a snowboard in pieces and used that as a front ski.
  • 2 0
ok sweet! well these look like a ton of fun to ride.. the only problem would be the decision between this or snowboarding
  • 8 0
They look weird but of course super fun to ride. Regardless if this movie takes off or not, well done for sticking with what you love and pushing the sport guys, A+ for originality. Smile

This seems more like biking and more fun www.youtube.com/watch?v=90Bgv0Xn3UE

Made me think of the first time I rode a ski bike and realized their wasn't any brakes about halfway down the hill. Good times. I'll stick with skiing.
  • 5 0
They can stop pretty quick with the SMX, i would say the same as somebody on skies. After the big jumps they are super fast, would be a big problem if they couldn`t stop.

I should get my step dad to weld me up one during winter season. Pretty basic just need someone with really good welding skills so they don't crack under lots of force.

I'm no expert but I think you're onto something.

Is that what we're doing now? Randomly saying though after a sentence?
  • 1 0
"Though" was part of my sentence, not after it.But no, that's not what we're doing, changing the focus of the topic from SMX to the ridiculous piece of camera work at the time however, was. Thanks for wanting to join in....though. Wink

Shot in the dark here, maybe these concraptions aren't popular because they're totally f*cking stupid?

If only you applied those skills to bicycles, someone might actually fly a f*ck or two.

This here a bike site, I think what you want is "YouTube"!!!!!
  • 1 0
Wait... but that's actually cool! The part at 4:50 was the best. Opens up new ideas for the winter in wooded areas!
