+1 Simon knows his stuff. If you're prepared to spend serious $$ in a bike then getting him to give you and a couple of friends a lesson to help improve your riding makes sense.
A dollar towards professional instruction equates to faster/better riding than a dollar towards bike equipment. Simon is great at pointing out and fixing flaws in your riding style that you would never have thought of in X amount of rides.
If his instruction is based on the riding in the video I would rather spend more money on the bike. Unless I was a newbie and should not be buying a expensive bike in the first place.
The serious bike $$ argument kinda pissed me off. But he is probably a great coach. Does it matter what your bike costs? If you need coaching, you need good coaching no matter what level of rider you are or what your bike is worth.
Some buddies and I took his fluid ride course a few years ago and it is still paying dividends. Very few riders with his skills can actually articulate the mechanics of what they are doing on a bike. Simon puts it all together.
It is from Simon's video that I learned pushing and lowering a bit the outside foot while cornering. This is the biggest tip I have ever had. It is very cool to see this subtle technical detail in this video. Thank you SIMON!!!!!!!!!
Tiger Mountain, Issaquah Washington.
It's a decent trail to ride a few time but doesn't have a ton of variety, also it's a fire road climb only which kinda sucks
That's the new Summit Trail, probably one of the most fun trails near Seattle if you like the fast and flowy stuff. Also the only one where downhill bikes have the right of way.
Finally a great video of one of my favorite trails in the area. Jasper and Simon really did a bang up job on this video! I tip my hat (helmet) to the both of you.
I like the lower rise myself, but at a certain point I found that bars were getting too wide for me personally. More control for the aggressive stuff, but not so much fun being that stretched out on longer rides.
I'll assume that at 92 (and fellow poo sniffer) you've seen quite a number of trails, and have catalogued the winners and losers. Any chance one could get a lead on a 'good' track?
If anyone in England is after a good instructor get in touch with Jedi at ukbikeskills.co.uk
I learnt so much in a day and had a great time doing it. Can't recommend it enough.
