It's awesome to see this. Growing up watching all the kranked/nwd/collective series. Wade has always been my favourite rider by how stylish and smooth he could make even the steepest trail or biggest drop look. Not to mention how humble and personable he is. I got the chance to meet him at bike shop opening when I was 14 and after talking to Wade for a short while he convinced the shop owner to give me the big rocky banner that was suppose to go up in the shop and signed it for me. I was so stoked. That poster will always have a spot on the wall. If your reading this Wade, thanks for that and all the awesome video segments you made that still get me stoked to ride. Happy to see your still doing what you love and have an amazing family to share the ride with. Cheers!

no joke, back in the day my buddy and I used to call each other Wade and Richie anytime either of us did something burly or stylish. "Nice drop, Wade!" "yeah, sweet table, Richie!" I love that he's still a big part of the scene and not pushing a mouse around a desktop somewhere (like me). Seriously, having him out there showing us what's possible is a big part of why I still ride and love to push myself to new heights. Trail blazer for sure and still slaying trails.

He is a cool guy. He says he doesn't care about the houses and money but considering how crazy expensive B.C. real estate is, if you can afford a house in B.C., I'd say you're doing things right in your life. And his house looks pretty nice, cool looking neighborhood too!

Great, mature perspective on life, family and our sport. Plus, he is and always will be the smoothest guy on two wheels. He makes those slick, tech lines look so easy.

hey, this was really cool. im 36, also have two kids and love mountain biking. Having kids is the best thing in the world. The next best thing is when you switch off your phone, take your bike and ride into a forest where noone can reach you.

Amen brother! I feel so lucky to be able to ride and when I ride I feel so lucky to have my family. Both make me stronger.

When he jumped that Moreno Valley Gap in 2002 and I saw him pumping that bike in the air sort of to find that rhythm and balance… Man I was hooked. That NWD movie sparked something after I stopped riding. I got back on the bike and stayed on this time haven't stopped riding and I'm 47. Role model for every person calling himself a Mountainbiker.

4 years ago I spen a day riding with him at Whistler, it awesome for sure, at the end of the day we had a beer at a pub in Creek Side after riding Ride don't Slide, he ask if I had kids I answered no he said you should they are best thing ever. Now we have a 3 year old that ride with us on easier trails and yeah Wade you were right best thing ever !

Thank you Wade for defining the spirit of Free Riding with your bikes skills, courage and passion. Its sad that the Free ride era is a dying trend. I like to take eager participants down old School gnar to keep the spirit of Free riding alive. Lola R.I.P.

Nice video. Never heard of this guy but I really enjoyed watching him ride. I'm always working on my turns so my favorite bit is the slo-mo sequence that starts at 3:07 - perfect posture.

Thanks for sharing this, I love the freehub mag.

A rare thing when you can just be yourself,do what you were meant to do and inspire a generation of your peers. I'm sure many of our riding experiences have been influenced by Wade Simmons. Drop over the Marzocchi truck in NWD3 is imprinted on my memory banks for all time.

I have sacrificed a lot to ride some amazing mtb: I have lived in poverty, broke bones, have been far away from friends and family and generally struggled to do everything I could to ride. Just like you Wade I have been addicted! I don’t regret any of it…thank you for inspiring me and a whole bunch of riders.

What knee pads? They look super thin/comfy for all day pedal, with a bit of padding.

Looks like Race Face Indy's www.raceface.com/guards/legs/indy-knee
G-forms also fit the bill, I ride with them every day: g-form.com/en/pro-xc-knee-pads.html

I was wondering myself. I think this is it ibert.bike. Thinking about getting one for my daughter. Looks way more fun and simple than a trailer. Plus if Wade uses one it's got to be good.
