“Home” is a term that has a very solid meaning, yet the concept itself has a very loose structure. Home is a place. Home is people. Home is a trail. Bryn Atkinson and Jill Kintner recently moved to Bellingham, Washington, where all of these aspects converge into a community that matches their own passion for riding, which is where this new video series from the guys at Feehub Magazine begins. Some things about their new locale might take some getting used to, especially for an Australian like Bryn (like 34-plus inches of annual rainfall), but it’s all these elements together that make home what it is.

Bellingham, private property owners and timber companies have been really good to MTB riders in the area. Using a dirt bike to shuttle on private property could end all that.

Hey @MOLDTRUTH & @shilohtech we fully agree about the use of moto's on bike specific trails. However, this episode was shot on moto specific trails at an undisclosed location. Thanks for bringing this up, we think its important to make that clear and apologize for not being more specific in our description. Cheers! @freehubmag

Exactly. . . Take Galbraith for example. Originally build by moto (original Enduro) guys, and most trails off of that are still to this day are being build with the help of moto's.

@MX298 Galbraith definitely did start by moto, but I've never seen or heard a moto up there since I've been riding. I do know of other areas that have been exposed primarily because of moto which in turn ruined the MTB in those areas. Moto is badass, but not on MTB trails

Few things ruin a great day mountain biking than the sound of a dirt bike. Dirt biking is fun, but when I'm out on my bike the only sounds of civilization I want are my buddies' yelling because they're stoked and the sound of my freehub spinning for joy.

.... And there is a group of people that don't like the sound of your free hub. We all should just try and be more tolerant. trying to take every special snowflake into account creates new special snowflakes

Did you see anybody else ? I didn't!

 You're a special snowflake, @scandal667!

I'm sure some hikers are annoyed by cyclists. And I'm sure animals are annoyed by hikers. The list goes on and on. Dirt bikers are probably annoyed by clunky 4x4s. And everybody is pissed at housing development that displaces old riding/hiking/moto spots.

That solo shuttle is amazing! Truck then bike then Moto! At least it makes going back up a whole lot more fun

As a person who helps build and maintain MTB trails, I am a little torn. I like the idea of blasting back up to the truck on a dirt bike if you have your own property and you can ensure that you are the only one using it. I would have a UP only trail for the dirt bike so it doesn't destroy the DH trail.

On our secret DH/Freeride trail we constantly have to battle with some dirt bike guys who come through when it's wet and chew up the lips of jumps and creating a bunch of mud with with the burn outs and huge nobs on their tires.

If it was my own property I for sure would do this, but with 2 different trails. Rant Over.

off topic but RIP Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister! the god of rocknroll!

He rips on a downhill bike, but did the riding just look heavy and slow in this edit? Don't know if it was the trail, the conditions, or just the filming angles, but he just seemed like he was plodding in it.

i was gonna ask where is your wife in all of this ?

Why not just ride a DH bike if you're gonna shuttle
