Northern BC’s Bike-Powered Renaissance - Video
The recipe for a good party is pretty simple: good people. Any time there’s a group of quality human beings, good times are likely to ensue. When mountain biking is added to that mix, not to mention a week-long road trip through Northern British Columbia, it’s one hell of a party. The idea was to explore some of the province’s small towns that are aiming to revitalize their tourism industries and specifically working with mountain bikers to make this happen.

The results have been impressive thanks to the effort the small towns of Prince George, Fort St. James, Terrace, Smithers and Burns Lake have put into their surrounding trails. The seed has been planted and all of these areas have become home to riding that rivals many of the well-known meccas in the province, with more on the way. The only thing left now is for everyone else to realize it.

Haven't seen Darren Butlers name in a long time, thinking of that Drop In road gap crash still gives me the chills. Awesome video though, looks like a ton of nice trails and dedication from local builders.

Haha! I was one of the guides for the PG spot and I thought exactly the same thing when I met him. I didn't mention it though, he still rips.

We did most of this trip this summer and was surprised at the quality/quantity/variety of riding. Burns Lake has it dialed, Smithers has some cool alpine and old school shore stuff. Sorry we missed you Shanny when we rode piderny.... If you are going through this area for work or play, definetly bring your bike. Don't forget Williams Lake enroute.

Ive wanted to take a trip to Burns Lake ever since I saw this www.pinkbike.com/news/Not-Another-Ghost-Town-video-2013.html. Really well done short film that shows the awesome atmosphere of the small town bike community and dedication towards the trails.
