After a slow start to the season due to suffering a broken hand at a local Enduro race, Britney White returned to the saddle with a vengeance. Motivated to make up for lost time, she dedicated herself to her bike and getting back to race form. Britney spent the rest of the summer timing her laps in the woods, crushing most people’s race pace on her “training” runs.

Britney White 2014

When Britney’s not hammering trails on her downhill bike, she’s training on her Enduro bike or hitting the dirt jumps at the Burlington Bike Park. Next year’s plans include racing and additional video projects. Britney would like to thank her sponsors, Fox Suspension, Transition Bikes, Spank, Profile Racing, IXS, Continental Tires, Shimano, Chris King, Disidual Clothing, Coal Headwear and AlleyCat Bike Shop.

Wow. That was the most impressive women's freeride video i've ever seen.
  • 48 9
She timed herself. By rule, that cannot be freeride.

 Dare I say... free racing?
  • 2 0
need to bring that dude in a suit from freeride's dead video from david peacock with mike hopkins to rate that freeride segment Wink .

Didn't catch on that it was a girl - I was thinking "Wow - wish I could ride like that!" Great vid!
  • 2 1
Must've been expensive to get all those cameras lined up trailside!
  • 2 0
Everything abt her riding style screamed racer hahaha, and then she clicked the imer and i was like "yup". Sweet stuff tho

So glad this made front page. This is a solid representation of women can and love to do on a bike.
  • 12 0
and she does it right! Smile really love the flowy and 'looks so easy on camera' style
and GOD those trails are more than awesome Smile
  • 4 1
Absolutely. There should me more videos of women riding trails like that with badass style.
  • 3 0
She's killing it, really nice style with flow.
  • 43 4
No boobs, no lolipops, but her riding and style are way more sick than in Linda's video.
  • 10 0
Haha. Look - I like Linda's er, uh...edits. But you bring up a good point - when it comes to female sponsorship there is a certain premium that is paid for sex appeal. I'm not saying I agree with it, or condone it - but it absolutely does exist. You see it all the time in sports like surfing, rock climbing, skiing/snowboarding, etc. The best looking women are the ones who take home the biggest sponsorship dollars. Considering how well sex sells, and the fact that men represent the vast majority of the purchasing power, you can't really blame the system for being set up this way.
  • 12 0
It made a refreshing change for it not to end with the removal of the helmet and the shaking out of the hair to show us she's beautiful AND can ride. I'd much rather watch edits like this one as they're more to do with the riding and the trails than the afore mentioned 'sex sells'.

She was haulin ass in some of those shots. I fucking dream of riding in a forest like that.
  • 11 1
That's the best forest type on the Planet.
  • 1 0
Please one without ferns. They're the most evil thing in the world. Those plants looks like they think how to kill people. Its weird, but it scares shit out of me.
  • 3 1
So much innuendo in that statement. Ass.... fucking.... riding.... forest.... shots.
  • 18 0
Britney, that was banger and bad ass.. holy sh.... oes... well done lady.

I was wondering what this song would look like in a MTB edit - its ok I guess, but that's in comparison to the epicness it provides in "Into the Mind"

This was probably the most impressive women's freeride video I've ever seen. Into the Mind was also on another level. That being said, I don't think that either video reached the level needed to make that song completely "work".... I dont know how to say it, but I guess its like the song is too primal.
  • 4 1
Upon review, the teaser was on another level and then all of a sudden the shrieking started, and I was just totally thrown back going "wait what is this??" Did anybody else get that feeling?
  • 5 1
I agree, that Chick Ripped, and the music nearly ripped my eardrums out!
  • 5 1
I agree that no-one should ever use this song again after the Into the Mind trailer and movie used it. Sherpas pushed adventure cinematography to the ragged edge and this song was a critical part of that. While they didn't create the perfect ski movie, by any means, they took things to a level never seen before. Which was very hard to do with Freeride and Brainfarm breaking boundaries at the same time. So while this is a pretty decent little piece, it is unfortunately a letdown when tied to this tune.
  • 2 0
Let's just hope it doesn't turn into the next "Sail" or "Radioactive", and end up in every edit.
  • 2 1
I think the music fits this video much better than "Into The Mind"s trailer. Great job's been done here. It's shame to see people complaining by this song being used. It's great quality music, it fits the video great and pushes the whole thing to another level. I guess people will be happier with Lana del Ray or Ellie Goulding or some more mainstream music.

 www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOlxcpXW2V0&spfreload=10

This is the segment of the film that used this song and it´s just on another level, which will never be reached by anyone because Sherpas have got their own insane style that no one else has got (you either like it or not) and therefore this song is banned for other edits.

I have heard that they are shooting a MTB movie. Does anyone know more about it??
  • 1 0
Yeah.. the song already belongs to wintersports..
  • 2 0
The other edit made this song into a soul shaker, this edit not so much. Still great just didnt flow with the song very well.

Great Video Brit and Jay! I think electric powwow was a great match for the flow of the video and a nice nod to your Native American roots Brit.
  • 2 1
If I had seen this trailer it might have swayed my decision to use this song. The trailer was next level for sure. Just wondering how prayer flags, sherpas, ak lines and caucasions relate better to Native American beats than a Native American riding her bike in Native American territory. Seems maybe a beat from the sherpas home land would have fit that trailer a bit better than a native american beat.
  • 3 0
That's true... it definitely didn't fit with sherpas and prayer flags, but your video watcher wouldn't associate the native american beats with that green forest or person who does not give any indicator of her native american roots in your video either. The main problem I see is that while the video is epic, the sections of trail being shown during the shrieking are somewhat flat and harmless looking, and when things to get big, everything is pretty calculated rather than loose with chundering high speed skids as the chaoticness of this song seems to represent.

I'd personally try to find a soft song that tended towards chaos, (I guess you could say) as the sections got became more epic rather than the other way around, which is I think what you have done.

 ThanksSmile

I think that this song fits forests better than snow peaks. It feels much more at home there. Just sayin'
  • 6 0
So sick Brit!!! She is the real deal fellas!!
  • 6 1
great video... too bad they accidentally played the music backwards at half speed Wink

Salute

There should be: "MUST WATCH" before the tittle.
  • 6 1
I would have loved to see/hear this RAW !
  • 4 0
For once it's nice to see someone on a downhill bike actually pedaling it. And she hauls the mail!
  • 1 0
Man ! she is so light on the bike, and massively pinned... a lesson in riding relaxed, didn't seem to have a tight muscle in her body... First time i have seen Britney ride, will definitely be looking out for her this season.....
  • 3 0
We need a female equivalent for 'ballsy'. That was awesome. My daughter is 8 and she nearly said a dirty word when I showed her this vid.
  • 2 1
That depressing moment when they use the song that you were going to use on your own riding video. But I still feel it probably fit this video a lot better than it would have my own, awesome riding!
  • 4 0
Best vid I've seen in a long time! You rock Britney! Thanks Freehub!
  • 4 1
Entertaining edit, enjoyed the flow of it especially the lapses in the music where only the sounds of the bike were audible.
  • 7 3
what the f*ck did i just listen to?
  • 3 0
It sounded like a mix of a traditional west coast First Nations song and drums, with a little techno (maybe the wrong term) blended in. I thought it was a good twist for music in a bike video. Helps to tell others where it is filmed if you live else where in the world.
  • 4 0
 YOKO ONO?

"A Tribe Called Red" a First Nations band from Ottawa singing a song called Electric Pow Wow

Great video edit...music not so much.

All you need is a stop watch to get fast! Strava & other GPS gadgets are not required to improve athletics; they really are only toys. This girl has it right.

I felt somewhat lame meeting one of Canada's fastest marathoners who was using a simple timex watch, while I ran with a garmin...much slower... I promptly got rid of that unnecessary device.
  • 4 0
Hell yeah Brit. Way to keep it fast and classy.
  • 4 0
 YEAH BW!!!
  • 2 1
Impressive riding no doubt but what kind of music is that? Are we mountain biking or about to preform a human sacrifice? AHHHHhhhHhhHhhHHHHhhhhHHH!
  • 1 0
Not to be offensive, but that might very well be the first video of a female rider I've enjoyed watching. Restores my faith in BOMBs (babes on mountain bikes)!
  • 5 1
 Her style is sick
  • 2 0
Bad ass. Been on the injured list for nearly four months...Can't wait to get back on the bike next year!
  • 1 0
Absolutely fantastic, she is faster than most of the men you see in these videos, it's really good to see its both genders going out and shredding at the moment!
  • 2 0
Britney killing it! So flowy and fast. Music was ok, gave it that primal, no holds barred thru the video.
  • 1 0
Great riding. We needs more RAW, please. Loud free hub bodies(king), tumbling rocks and the roaring wind are sometimes the sweetest music.

The washing up is not going to do itself luv.
