Sequence Saturday 40
I've been riding for about 12 years and these days I dont wear much body armour except knee pads and a good full face helmet. But in the early days when I was learning and trying to level up and ride like my heroes in those bike videos, i'd wear lots of protection. Wearing armour gave me a false sense of confidence and invincibility. I remember back in 2005, i bought a Beast Gear upper body suit and It was the first time I had ridden Wild Cherry on Cypress. The entrance of the trail has a feature called "chilli dog" and to the left of it was a small cliff with about a 12 foot drop onto a stair case. There was a random dude shooting photos and with the confidence my new flack jacket gave me, I hit that cliff drop, landed, bucked hard and was thrown over the bars backwards into a tree upside down at a pretty good velocity. Thanks to the armour, I shook it off like a champ. So my point is, if your going to push the envelope it is better to wear the protection and not need it, than to not wear and need it. Ride to survive.

10 days left to win the 'Ride Giant. Ride Whistler' contest!
Giant Glory is a weak bike, win that and you'll break it after 10 aggressive runs in whistler. I'm betting that the rental fleet sponsored by Giant bikes will be all be cracked by the end of July.

Its a huge gap drop for sure, seeing it on video doesnt do it justice. Berrecloth is a big kid, so hucking a drop 25 feet up and at least 20 feet out, you're bound to hit like a ton of bricks. But hey its easy to make comments, I say post your video or maybe commenting on this and not riding bikes is your game. Lame. Sick move Ryan. Props.
