The purpose of the Team was for two reasons, to get Aston Hill Bike Park back on the map and gain awareness on the race circuit and most importantly to help develop young riders to realize their potential and their goals. All our riders are from South East England and are honed to riding the famous root infested chalky Chilterns Trails that Aston Hill has become famous for. This season the Team has a lot to follow as the previous season was a super successful one with multiple British Downhill Series and Pearce Cycles Series wins from the whole Team, every rider has moved up a category and with it a tough new challenge.

The Team are looking to break into the World Cup Circuit by next Season by achieving consistent results in the Shimano British Downhill Series, Pearce Cycles Series and some IXS European rounds to hopefully continue their run of form into the National Championships at Innerleithen on the 20th July.

great to see Banshee sponsoring a South-East based DH Team

interesting to see how the Legend rides on the small rippled and root infested Aston Hill DH runs, as the Legend perhaps suits a hard charging big hit track, always found a "softer / more mushy" suspension system like FSR ideal for Aston to keep the back wheel on the rooty ground?

Aston Hill involves a lot of pedalling, with a lot of very exposed root, so lots of repeated square edge hits. Should think a DW link would be right at home there. Not sure why you think an FSR is softer or more mushy? Almost any suspension layout can be tuned for almost any terrain. As long as the kinematics are good and the shock set up suits the design. Spesh have been using the FSR layout for many many years now, so should (and do) have it pretty dialled in.

On a seperate note its odd to see team aston hill on banshees when there is a massive Madison logo just behind them. What happened to the Mysts?

Also...If you're gonna ride Banshees (very nice bikes too) why not something a bit shorter travel like a Rune? 160 should be plenty really for Aston hill and most other English trail centers. Bring out the Legends for Wales or Scotland. Although on reflection, that would involve owning two very expensive bikes I suppose...

@gabriel-mission9 We were on Saracen last season and did very well on the Myst's considering we had to prove you could win on their entry Level Myst Pro, and we did just that.

The Myst was a great bike and Madison.co.uk supported us well, so we are very greatful to them for giving us that opportunity.

When the season finished, Banshee presented us with a great offer as well as Marzocchi and all our other sponsors and we decided that we would go in this new direction.

Madison.co.uk still heavily sponsor our races and Aston Hill Bike Park.

Your other comment about the Rune is a valid one as it really can do everything, although not as quick as the Legend on WC or National tracks and that is what we are mostly racing on.
Keep your eyes peeled though and you may just see us using the new Darkside on some of the tracks......

Yeah I am actually looking forward to seeing a Darkside in the flesh. Peeling my eyes sounds painfull tho so I'll just look out for some next time I'm riding Aston. Should be there sunday hopefully. Good to see you have all matching race gear now too, I'll know who not to set off in front of now.

Could you tell me which national tracks in England are better suited to full DH rigs on your opinion? I'd like to ride them Smile

Loving the uniform of the team, same jerseys same bike and same components! actually looking like a team rather than looking like they race for themselves Pimp

Thanks for the great feedback guys, our aim is to continue developing young talent to keep GB up there as one if the best in our sport. There really is no better place and atmosphere to be involved in then at the Races where there are no inflated egos and everyone gets along with eachother, if you see us, come and say hi and chat bikes!
