GoPro and Pinkbike have teamed up once again to bring you the GoPro of the World: Best Line Contest!
Sending some sweet jumps? Riding a rowdy line with your friends? Taking your bike where no bike has gone before? Well, this year we are bringing you more chances to WIN! Contest runs July 1st - Nov 30th, 2016 and one Grand Prize winner will take home $15,000.
Judges will now select the 10 best edits from each month. The Pinkbike audience will vote on these 10, and the edit with the most votes takes home the first prize of $1,200. Second place will receive $800, and third wins a sweet GoPro Hero4 Black Edition. At the end of the five months, all top three monthly edits will go into a bracket challenge and an overall winner will be selected. Whoever makes it through to the end will take home $15,000 in cold hard cash. Will it be you?
Dates: July 1, 2016 - November 30, 2016
Location: Planet Earth
Judging Criteria: • Composition and Framing (25%) • Perspective and Degree of Difficulty of Shooting (25%) • Performance and Style (25%) • Overall Beauty and Lighting (25%)
Prizing • $15,000 Grand Prize • $10,000 in Secondary Cash Prizes • Monthly GoPro Hero4 Prizes
Some updates to the contest this time around:
• More people to receive prizes! Instead of five monthly $1,000 winners, we're doling out $2,000 and a camera each month to three monthly winners. • Judges won't be selecting the monthly winners, but instead selecting the nominees from which the users will select their top three winners. • The length of the video submission is now recommended instead of a rule. Recommended length is 2-3 minutes. • Changes to judging criteria
Those PROs earned their merit through tons of sweat and blood. I'm happy for them to win the contest. On the other hand I think message of this contest is to motivate people to become better and better at everything they do.
@nikifor88: Hey, it is not a subject to joke around on the community. I don't know from where you think I'm a terrorist but I assume you do not know that ISS stands for International Space Station? You should try treck session jokes, they are much easier to handle
@nikifor88: Wow! You're really dense aren't you? I thought all those jokes about Poles where just jokes. Something is seriously wrong with you if you're trying to turn a joke about a GoPro contest and the International Space Station into an ISIS issue.
Depending on setting used on the camera, and the brightness outside.. you can get some awesome gopro footage that doesnt need much assistance in editing.. throw in a cool mounting angle and you can make some very high quality shots without altering colors or light levels in post..
I made it in this video and I am just a normal dude in Utah. Not pro at all. It was literally the only video I've posted on pinkbike. Surprised the shit out of me actually.
So stoked to be featured in that edit!! Made it to the top 8 last year but unfortunatley lost my go pro in a fishing accident so wont be competing this year
Contest rules, page 4 line 8: "Submission must not contain unsportsmanlike conduct, extraordinarily dangerous acts, or reckless acts." isnt rampage or fest series events considered as death defying stunts? Seriously??
@norcal77: not as bad as the shares. Went from high 70's to under 8 for a while. Recently creeped back up to over ten. Poor gpro stock. It must be fun bieng uninformed.
@makripper: im not uninformed, im just not taking shots at an action cam that has changed the industry, supported biking and improved my memorable moments. Sorry for liking GorPro
@norcal77: they didn't really do anything special. All they did was have a slightly better camera than the competitors did at the beginning. They have since been eclipsed by far superior products for better prices. I've had a couple gopros now and they've been sub par. So yea, you are an uninformed fanboy. I don't hate them just feel bad for them for being terrible at making money and glad I didn't invest in them during the IPO which I deeply considered. If they could stop their shit and price like xiaomi or the like (they come with the same internals anyways) and be competitive instead of thinking they are some camera diety then they'd have a chance.
We're cyclists, we don't care about the stock market. The main thing that is wrong with your posts is your attitude. Can't understand why you feel superior for knowing one fact we all don't care about.
go pro.
dude its so 2009...
ain't this shitty fad done yet?
You do realize ISS I'd the abbreviation for International Space Station?
Cool your jets there bro.
