AFD Gravity

Due to extreme weather over the past few days in the Hinton region, all Gravity Cup 2014 events have been forced to cancel. With over 12" of unexpected snow fall on the course and dirt roadway, it has been deemed a safety hazard for participants riding the course as well as our logistical team. Weather conditions are tentatively expected to warm up by Sunday, however, due to colder temperatures in the bush, this will not allow enough time for the roadway and course to dry.

All participants who preregistered will be contacted by our Events Team in order to process your full refund.

It is with heavy hearts this decision has been made, and we hope to come back better than ever in the coming year(s).

unfortunately the bad weather has continued all week, although we were all looking forward to the race, it was a good call to cancel. this way we will have a trail to ride next year without major repairs being needed. Thanks AFD for all the hard work that you went through, and we look forward to the return next year!

it will not be dry enough to run the many shuttles up and down the access roads , it will not be dry on the course although might be enough to race. dont know what being a pussy has to do with a foot of snow and people's safety and the damage that will be done to the access by forcing up in those conditions.

yes it (dh race) is safe, when the track is clear to race on and the access to it is safe (safety during the race is your responsibility to ride within your safety zone) , but its not clear or safe so safety is a concern and the reason its shut down ... did you even read the damn post or do you enjoy simantics and splitting hairs ..... eitherway it wont work here
