All summer long there were flags with the event and the dates up on the South side of the high level bridge and I saw it on some billboards around the city. It definitely could have been promoted better but it definitely was promoted.
I was a little disappointed with the turnout for the semi-finals on saturday. But by the 2nd round there were a lot of people watching. I think the park and ride might have hurt the turnout a bit but I just rode my bike to Hawrelak.

Opinion: Improvement, Innovation, and Unanticipated Consequences
I went 1x11 because I like the fact I don't have to ever think what ring I am up front and I have access to my dropper post without the clutter of a front shifter in the way. I also have not had an issue in running out gears unless I am riding my bike to the trails and I am on pavement, then I find I am exceeding what my smallest cog can do but on the trails I have had no issues with topping out my speed or being unable to climb. I found it amazing.
I have a triple on one of my bikes still and I find I never use it for anything other than pavement now.

Why do I find all the negative comments unsurprising lol. People pass judgment without trying it and thinking its been done before. Trek has come a long way in the past 6 or 7 years with their suspension and every change they have made has been pretty rock solid. Sure people complain about different standards but I find all the changes to be pretty awesome, especially when I go back and ride some of the old bikes. I can understand that people don't have the money to buy something new every year but at the same time that doesn't mean the new stuff won't be awesome.
I for one am excited to try this new tech out. See what it feels like, I will judge it against my own standards and hope that it holds up. Sure there will be marketing hype but riding the bike will be the ultimate test. I am definitely really interested.

Darren, just wanted to say I am a 31 year old Mountain Biker still ripping and I probably never would have done it without seeing how you killed it at Rampage 2. I am glad you are still ripping as well. I think you have the most dialed table 3's in the business and the sweetest Superman Seatgrab Indian Airs.

Final Results: Fort William World Cup 2013
Hard to directly compare last years results to this years. Track conditions change and racers change and bikes change but it does seem fishy that Sam Hill fell off the map with Specialized and now Aaron Gwin is falling in placing too and all of a sudden Brook MacDonald is coming 2nd at Fort Bill on a Session. Sure it is all speculation and circumstantial but it does make a pretty compelling argument.

Did Gwin Breach His Contract With Trek World Racing?
Seriously doubt this had anything to do with Lance and Trek, especially since Specialized riders have been stripped of tour titles. It was probably just a straight up better deal from Specialized.

I think considering the audience that is probably watching "The Today Show" it was a pretty good spot. I mean it isn't like 18-30 year old males are sitting at home in the morning watching "The Today Show" for the latest extreme sport news.
