@sicsoma @cyrix I said it because bigger wheels roll over bumps easier by not falling into them, smoothing a track out therefor making it easier to ride. DH is all about (well should be all about) having the roughest gnarliest tracks to sort the men from the boys or the woman from the girls. The UCI listen to Greg Minnaar enough, maybe he can get bigger wheels banned just like he got skinsuits banned as they look stupid and there associated more with XC haha, skin suits make people faster but they had to go. Also what happen to the 24 inch wheel fad for DS back in the day faster acceleration out of the gate and corners that didn't last long.

PB: Are tracks getting easier ? AG: Yes they are. Time to listen up UCI and start to broaden your horizons looking for tracks and make DH one standard wheel size!

Is it just me or is everyone else over all this wheel size talk ? The UCI need to make DH racing one size wheel and thats it, racheal atherton was right DH is all about the rough stuff, no point trying to smooth it out with bigger wheels!!!

Wow another person who comes up with the unoriginal "it looks like" comment, get over it!!! There have been that many bikes over the years and everything will look similar in some way or another, or if it ain't broke why fix it. Not to many companies are going to go out and radically make something that will look total original in this day and age ( a few but not many). I say start working with fox and RS to make a new reliable pull shock and make a modern day Lobo or straight 8. :-)

Remember the 24inch wheel fad all about faster acceleration, maybe we will see them come back at sea otter in the dual slalom haha. Let the industry play with there bigger wheels and push all the benefits on you just so you go and and spend more money resulting in 26 to still be the universal standard. Maybe ask Greg Minnaar he seems to get what he wants, flat pedally south african tracks where he can win in front of his home crowd and skin suit bans just cause they don't look right. If its all about speed then all bans should be lifted or everything should be banned that includes the top riders getting the best suspension, let them test it on the off season and practice as it gives them an edge or give the slower guys a chance to make up some time even if it involves wearing lycra.
