While all the invited riders are prequalified for the main event, they still had to do a seeding run to determine their start order. But before any of that happened, the amateur riders got a chance to ride and take a run at qualifying for the main event.

Amateur winner Reece Wallace threw down a sick run that included this toboggan and flip barspin. He qualified for the main event along with second and third place finishers Paul Genovese and Jack Fogelquist.
Jamie Goldman showed up riding nothing less than a full DH Santa Cruz V10, and he made it great. Check out this bad ass V-10 Superseater. Sick!
The Kiwi, Kelly McGazza, always there, always throwing down. One foot table over the hip...
Tyler McCaul made some solid runs today, and kept some tricks for the finals. No one was giving much away today...

Watts was also one of only a few to trick off the drop today.
Yannick Granieri was on fire today and showed off a few more tricks than most.

Brett Rheeder has been charging lately, on the podium at pretty much every event we can remember. From the way he rode today in practice and seeding it looks like he's planning to be on the podium here as well.

Sam Pilgrim wasn't riding today, so before the seeding runs started he decided to take on the roll of photographer. He even got a few good shots like this one of Brett Rheeder over the hip.
And a few random ones, like this shot of Martin licking Yannick's helmet. Not sure what to think of that...
Euro squad's Thomas Genon seemed pretty confident on the course. I think this is his first trip to the other side of the pond.. good job!
Semenuk and Rheeder were both happy with their first seeding runs, so they decided to just have fun and train the second one..

Aggy had a bad crash today on the last quarter doing a flair. The crash didn't look that bad, but unfortunately it sounds like there is something broken in his lower right leg. GET WELL SOON BUDDY!
so stoked for the finals to go down tomorrow! it could be anyones contest, all the guys were looking good today. its cool see jamie goldman hitting the course on his big V10C, and healing vibes go out to Aggy! GET WELL SOON MAN!
Thomas Genon competed at the Claymore Challenge and Colorado Freeride Festival making this his third contest on the other side of the pond.
most underrated rider, hope he kills it here!
Thanks 'thepwnstar39' but I'm actually Australian..
and to clarify, I love it that Semenuk is destroying every comp he enters and believe he deserves all his wins. It'd just be nice to see guys like Genon be giving credit for doing much more technical runs that a lot of people that place higher.
Genon was at Claymore and Colorado Freeride Festival. Unless by "across the pond" you meant the Georgia Strait. Apparently no live feed for this one? Bummer.
Best description - "If one thing is consistent about Slope Style comps, it's that Anthony Meserre will absolutely boost the hell out of something. Amplitude, and then some." haha
Casey Groves posted on his Facebook this afternoon saying "Stoked to hear @GrahamAgassiz will be okay & ridin in 8 weeks time! Wish you a fast recover homie!"
Why has Sam Pilgrim not been riding the last two comps? Is he injured? Saving himself for JoyRide? This was the first comp I saw him ride a squishy at last year.
Cant understand why all Slopestylr riders wear jeans during comps? Surely shorts or dh pants are more comfortable and flexible? Course looks sick though, finals shud be crazy!
haha
