Sam Brown R.I.P.
I'm sorry for your loss Sam's family. I never knew Sam, but I initially took an interest in this story because I am also a helicopter pilot. I have learned since the many good things about Sam. The real truth in my opinion, can come from Mr. Martin himself. It has been speculated in the Salmon Arm area for months now from people in the small aviation circles that these helicopters (yes that's plural) he has leased or owns have been used for exactly this type of thing. They have been buzzing around the Shuswap area since last spring, for no apparent commercial use that anyone knows of, at a cost that probably exceeds $2000 per hour. If this wasn't suspicious enough, he didn't report a minimum $750,000 helicopter stolen for 2 days?? Not mentioned on the forum is the fact that Sam must have had some training and some considerable time behind the controls of a helicopter. I don't care what anyone says or what happens in the movies nobody can just jump in a helicopter for the first time and even get it off the ground, never mind fly an actual mission with it at low flight levels and in poor visibility. In the type of weather conditions he was in that night Sam must of had some pretty thorough training by someone that knew what he was doing. I hope for the sake of your family the RCMP does their job and nails this guy and the truth will come out for everyone that knew Sam.
