Race Report: Cascadia Dirt Cup - Tiger Mountain
The Tiger Summit is high enough that there's snow. It's just above 3000', IIRC. I know that when I lived out there, I encountered snow heading up to the summit trail a couple of times. That's the weird part about Seattle and the surrounding area; there's this (usually) 1500' cutoff for the snow; sometimes it drops lower, but that's typically the cutoff elevation. There were only 2 or 3 times when I lived at 650' or lower when we had significant snow that I can remember, and that's over a 10 year period of living out there.

Bontrager Rhythm Shoe - Review
FiveTen Impacts and Spesh pedals. Well padded and comfy shoes even for walking around in (I wear 'em when wrenching at the shop), and the pedals are smooth spinning, have a pretty substantial platform for wide feet, and the replaceable pins are tall and grippy.

Mudhugger Mudguards Now Available in US and Europe
Pretty keen. I've got a Rock Guardz front fender which looks similar to this design, but RG doesn't make a rear version. This might be a good solution.

Helmet Cam: Steve Peat, Sant Andreu DH Race
Think he means the narrow clearance between the trees, not gap like a jump.

Pinkbike Poll: Are You a Fair Weather Rider?
Here in Atlanta, a lot of the local trails close when it rains, snows, or there's a freeze/thaw. It really sucks. I hate that we had to move here from the PNW, where I could go out and ride in the middle of a downpour if I felt like it.

I hope I'm still shredding that hard in another 12 years.

It's a fun video, but he's no match for the drunken power of Boozy the Clown.

Mojo Pro Bike Clinic, Clips VS Flats with Neil Donoghue
There are plenty of places I know I'm at a disadvantage for riding flat pedals, and for having a mid-travel full suspension vs. my friends riding clipped in and on 29er HT bikes. There's more XC type riding around metro Atlanta area than there is any sort of DH like there was when I live in the PNW. So of course, I get my butt handed to me on the climbs. Whatever. I have fun all the same.

Pinkbike Poll: Dogs on the Trail?
I watched a guy and his dog both shred Semper Dirticus at Duthie Hill when I lived back there. It was awesome, the dog followed him, leaping all the gap jumps about 3 bike lengths behind his rider. Meanwhile, my dog has the attention span of a hummingbird on meth; no way I can let her off leash anywhere we're not fenced in.
