Sunday... In the realm of world cup downhill, Sunday represents one thing in all riders minds. Race day. But when the world cup circuit closes down for the year, and all the riders go back to their own respective homes. Sunday simply becomes another day, and when those few elite cannot race... They ride. Bryn Atkinson is no different. Even with the onset of a deep frozen winter here in the Pacific Northwest, he still manages to make it out and enjoy his Sunday ride.

Hey! I want to honestly thank every single one of you.. There is no way if you told me one year ago that I would be shooting for guys like Bryn and front paging on the single biggest biking website in the world.. It is honestly such a euphoric feeling and I have no words for how grateful I am to have gained such a following and to make it as far as I have.. I can assure every single one of you that the future is going to be even sicker! I don't want to spoil anything but we have plans for a full length movie that will be absolutely killer. I am so so unbelievably stoked that everyone here likes my stuff and I am more motivated then ever to keep doing what I am doing! Thank you Pinkbike for all you have given me!

Thanks for featuring the trail I helped build (MidTown). I'm a proud builder today.

yo is the song by mumford and sons if so or not whats it called
  • 3 0
Scandal. Nice work. Give yourself a pat on the back. The trail is as spectacular as Bryn.
  • 2 1
Yeah it is, its called "Where are you now"
  • 2 0
I agree, that looks like one of the most fun trails i have seen in a while.
  • 1 0
Hey scandal, can you fill me in on where that trail is? Looks just my style
  • 1 0
Super solid, filmer and builder. I rode that trail last weekend, it was burly (and frozen, and much less buffed). Thanks for bringing back what it felt like to ride...the climb up is a beech though!
  • 2 1
 hey LeesethebeastIts
@ Tokul in Fall City WA. Its called MidTown.

Enfin , Someone that can make an incredible bike movie, without those big, exteme, gnarly, bla bla... Just amazing riding and images that are fitted with good vibe music. Good job.
  • 1 0
The vid, the trail, the riding! Maybe my 4th time watching this, thank you!!!
  • 10 0
If everybody in the world had acces to this trail, the human race would be threatened with extinction because no one would want to have sex anymore.
  • 2 0
^That was the best comment I have seen in a while hahahahaha!
  • 2 0
Scandal and Cascadia, Hancock Timber should pay you 2 royalty for the permit they charge everyone. Unbelievable trail and edit. Crazy Ivan used to be my favorite trail there. (used to be!!) Can't comprehend how Bryn rips down it the way he does.

Thank you for the trail and the vid
  • 1 0
I know exactly how you feel man, there's no way a year ago i would think of being on front page or filming for Mr. Hill himself. That was a sick edit too man! Respect.
  • 2 0
Hey Mazze You speak for yourself !! I may be old, but NO bike trail could sub for a warm woman once it's dark. I did laugh though
  • 58 0
Okay kids, that's how you go fast - no superfluous whips and skids for the camera, just smooth smooth smooth and all business. Best riding video I've seen for a while.
  • 28 0
That trend of destroying trails for stupid little videos is pretty lame. All these kids can do is Skid these days. This was a show of flow
  • 4 0
I want to create some extra profiles just to thumb that up some more. That was far and away the best riding I have seen in a while.
  • 49 0
Taking those switch backs like a boss. I'd probably go about 1/10th the speed he does on that trail.
  • 8 1
so solid at cornering.. dude pops everything
  • 24 0
Best video I've seen in a good while. Bryn's capable of 30 ft road gaps but this shows it all falls back on just riding your bike on great trails for good fun. Great song too and sets a "cabin fever" mood for us that can't ride do to the weather.
  • 10 0
I've been waiting for a video like this on PB for ages...and I didn't even know it until I'd watched this. When people ask me about what I got up to at the weekend and I tell them "mountain biking", I struggle to accurately demonstrate or explain to people exactly what it is I actually get up to; now I have something worth showing them! Thanks cascadiacollective Smile

I'm not so sure that song was the ideal one for the vid.
  • 3 2
Think it's Mumford and sons not sure what song though. Awesome trail though!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 29 0
I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say it might be called "Where are you now?", but I have no idea why... Wink
  • 4 0
Its off there new album babel and its called 'where are you now', great song but an even better trail
  • 5 1
haha agreed, a trail like that is one in a million! so twisty and windy
  • 11 0
you'd think he was Scandinavian with all those flicks. I wish my winter had trail conditions like that. i'd be lucky just to find the trails under all this snow.
  • 12 2
Finally an edit where the rider does not skid just to get some dirt in the air.
  • 6 0
I love videos like this one- it quickly reminds me how crap my riding is and how crap my trails are. What greater reason there is to ride more, get better and build more? Great vid- flowy, quick and loose- the way we like it all...
  • 6 0
Hard to add to what's already been said. This is a soulful video that combines talented, focused riding, a GREAT trail and a song that matches the mood. I think it resonates with so many of us because the trail does not contain any huge gaps or stunts - so we can all visualize ourselves riding it and feeling the flow - though probably not at Bryn's speed. Bravo!
  • 6 0
That trail is................................ I can't even think of a word that would do it justice! Awesome, just plain awesome!!
  • 5 0
OMG I was riveted to this video, simply stunning
The only problem with it was every time I heard his tyres go past the camera and make that amazing noise, I wondered..... why can't mine do that Smile
  • 4 0
one of the best videos i have seen in awile. not flying down a mountain at break kneck speed or doing crazy tricks. just a guy going out for a ride and haveing a good time doing what ever he wonts. dont get me wrong he was still going fast! but this reminded me a bit more of my rideing style, i love it
  • 7 1
IMO, BEST VIDEO IN A LONG TIME great riding, great bike, great music, and best of all... the brisk morning sunrise.
  • 1 0
You were right. Sick trail, even sicker skill riding it! Glad I watched it, Bro.
  • 6 0
That was one of the best edits I have seen in awhile. Super chill vibe with pinned, flowy riding!
  • 5 0
I love the video, but after continually viewing these riders, it is starting to depress me at how they can corner so quick! I think I might stop watching for a while
  • 4 0
Don't be silly ... watch how they corner so quickly and try to learn from it...
  • 1 1
So if I watch gwin for long enough i'll be ask quick? Nah, it is called a skills gap, a gap that wont be bridged by watching them ride. Watching and knowing what you should be doing is only part of the story
  • 3 0
Song and Artist please! I rarely, watch a MTB video more than once, but this one I watched 3 times! This video took me somewhere! I wanted to be there in the woods. The song matched the scenery. There was a poetic loneliness conveyed. Brilliant. Not to mention the trail and rider are amazing.

Bryn is an amazing rider..fantastic edit..one of the best trail/all mountain vids/riding I've seen..excellent job!!!!
That trail is going to be sore for awhile...
  • 2 0
There were a couple of trails in that vid all at a place we call Tokul. I was there that day and came up to them when Bryn was walking back up the trail for another run. Jill Kitner was riding too on a different section of the same trail. Cool people, great day.
  • 4 0
That is amazing! I love how simple the video is. Just one guy shredding loving his sunday. Epic :-)
  • 3 0
My favourite video in a long time. Smooth riding!!! Makes me want to go riding again today. I love the endless summer of North Queensland
  • 2 0
what a great video. one that i can relate to more than the ones with the massive jump etc. just reminds me why i ride and makes me want to get out on the trails with my bike now.
  • 1 0
boy was the trail crowded this weekend... still, awesome vid & thanks again to the trail gnomes (you know who you are ya rap-slingin' wookies)

love riding out there & was sick watching Bryn slay it - gives us perspective on how far we still have to go to progress but nevertheless we can all enjoy the trail, the ride, the comraderie...
  • 4 0
great vid and edit, but 'deep frozen winter'? rolleyes

i believe bike is Norco Range
  • 2 0
Brilliant riding...! Bryn already had mad skills, but with Jill Kintner rubbing off on him he's a master... also love the new Sunday! Here I was thinking IronHorse had gone out of business...!

Style from way back...Riding home after trail work, I remember being in awe after seeing Bryn pop off a concrete median strip just as you come out of Smithfield trails.

Somehow content on this site just keeps getting better and better. One of my favorite videos for sure, totally captured the experience of mountain biking.
  • 1 0
Not sure if its been said BUT ....
Its awesome to see WC riders, in both Bryn Atkinson (and Santa Cruz rider Josh Bryceland), shooting videos we can all relate to.

Very inspiring.

Must have watched this well over 20 times. Bryn is a trail ninja and the edit is fantastic. It's hard to make riding look that rad.

hey retard, let's not tell the world where the trails are. especially these trails. get a clue.
  • 17 1
its not a powder stash D Bag
  • 6 1
its the builders decision, not yours bobsten.
  • 3 1
Why dont you get a clue bobsten. Unless the trial is illegal, there is no reason NOT to share the location of a trail. Let other people enjoy what you someone has created. What freeking douchebag!!!
  • 3 0
Come on Stenson... Not only is he one of the builders and has every right to advertise his trails but there are directions, trail maps, and guides all on the Evergreen MTB Alliance website... Not exactly hidden at all...
  • 2 2
 You tell em stens!
  • 1 3
you should think about the implications of bringing more people onto that hill. it would be unfortunate to see it to turn into another duthie
  • 1 3
I agree with bob on this one. I may not be a builder there, but it's fair to say that having a place be overcrowded isn't nessessairly the best thing in the world. It's a small parking lot and not completely legit trails. Also a lot of out of towners might not know about the permit to ride there.
  • 2 0
@stens. He's not trying to crowd the trail? Retard? Seriously? There is nothing worse than people laying claim to something that doesnt belong to them anyways. People did some hard work to make it so those trails could be talked about. Mountain biking is growing, face it. You've obviously been cool enough to know where the cool kids hang out. Lucky you. Two people built that trail, maybe only 2 people should go ride it. Freakin relic... @Paris... Nice shot on your photo homepage. Where's that atSmile
  • 1 1
I'm not condoning keeping trails a complete secret. I've just shot in enough places secret and not secret I've found it best to give out a more vague description of the location. fair enough ?
  • 2 0
And yes "retard" isn't the best choice of wording @stens
  • 2 4
I can't apologize enough for using the term "retard". But please understand that bringing more and more people to this location will ruin the entire aspect of this trail system. Small collections of people, never bumping into to other riders, it's a very unique and exhilarating experience compared to other locations in the area that are overrun by Joes.
  • 2 1
You mean Duthie in comparison to everywhere else... Whats the problem, do you not appreciate people attempting to like what we do... Others want to learn how to as you say "rape mother earth"
  • 3 1
I've seen enough Bros to know that they're all Joes. Hugs all around3 Party's at my house and everyones invited! especially those peeps on the scooter things! That edit was sweet! See you on the trail, which will probably only get better Tomorrow.
  • 3 2
As I said to another group, there was a time when I'd have throat punched someone who posted a vid of TKE. I suppose I've been out of the area for enough years to not care...although I've heard the 356th lot is a freaking zoo again. @Paris has enough of a clue to keep his descriptions vague or he'd get banned from Whatcom County (not that we have anything worthy)! Wink
  • 3 2
previous builders @ Tokul should own the fact that this IS the trail to ride there and just say Thank You.
  • 2 0
Agreed @EB. @CascadiaCollective has heard this all before about keeping trail knowledge out of videos, but it still seems to come up... The top videog's out there know how to handle this, and it does not detract in any way from their work.

@Scandal appreciate the effort and the creativity, but not the competitive attitude towards other builders. United we stand, divided we fall.
  • 2 2
 @Matt. Unpleasant backstory
  • 4 1
Scandal, you builders made the changes that were suggested, and the trail is better for it.
Things started off on the wrong foot. Not like the OG builders ever got thanks or coordination for building your "access trail".

It will be interesting to see how things hold up over a few years of heavy use, horses & motos, and land owner scrutiny.

I'm glad you are proud of the trail & stoked to show it off. Its fun!
Imagine how you would feel if you went out tomorrow and the trail had been decommissioned by the land owners?
The OG builders have been there, maybe that's why your balls got busted.
  • 4 0
TKE can be great and that's my only goal.
  • 1 1
Emailsucks98. Not sure where you got the information that we made changes that were suggested. FALSE
  • 3 0
Put down the bong man. You don't recall when midtown exited onto the equestrian trail? And your were told and accident would happen, with riders descending a trail equestrians typically go up? Then your dog scared the sht out of an equestrian who nearly got bucked?

We were stoked that you finished the job and added an exit trail that went across (not down) the equestrian access road. Good work!
  • 2 0
Emailsucks, thanks for your great suggestions on the early re-routes. Your advice and experience was definitely drawn upon even if it didn't appear that way at first..Now it's time to keep up the maintenance. Your story about the horse incident has nothing to do with your re-route advice. You shouldn't be bringing that up here. If you want to talk about it more about it you know who I am and how to get ahold of me. Dont fault Scandall for his enthusiam. He didn't have to suffer through your inferred anamocity and the early routing decisions. Lets move on. Pass the bong.
  • 2 0
And that "access trail" is still my favorite pitch up there. Thanks for building it. I'll keep it maintained.
  • 3 0
