Nico Vouilloz Injured in Training Accident
scott-townes speaks the truth. The worst falls I've ever had have been slow speed, techy climbing sections where the shit hits the fan.

Video: Fast and Fun XC in Hawaii
I've ridden in Maui a few times - but there aren't a lot of places to ride: mainly Skyline Trail and Makawao forest reserve. Are the trails in this video open to visitors? Just curious - but wanna be respectful of the local scene too.

Same thing - I haven't found much either... I'm gonna try emailing some of the shops there.

Oneup Components 42-tooth Cog for Ten-Speed Cassettes - Reviewed
As millsr4 pointed out, the manufacturing cost is reasonable. Plus, there are people who designed this thing - and design costs money (such as making prototypes, CNC time, etc). Sure, it's not as cheap as a single chainring, but hey - these guys need to make a profit at the end of the day too. XX1 is waaay too expensive, and this is a great alternative.

Definitely would not pay full retail for Easton wheels. I bought a pair of Havens and they SUCK.

Pinkbike Poll: The Demise of 26'' Wheels - Unnecessary Extinction or Natural Evolution?
In many ways, the heavy push towards 650B by the mountain bike industry / media (pretty much the same thing) is taking a toll on people relatively new to the sport. I think it is pretty disheartening for someone getting into this awesome sport, they shell out a ton of cash, and then in short order, are being made to feel that what they have is cut-rate. Choice is excellent, but when an article is titled "The Demise of 26" Wheels..." it can't help but make the new riders out there feel like they have been screwed.

First Look: Specialized 2014 Trail Bikes
Word on the street is that Ibis is redesigning the swingarms so you can put one on your MOJO HD, run 26" (w/o changing geometry), or run 650b. So all you folks with MOJO HD's, rather than pony up for an HDR, wait for the new swingarm. Of course, you still need to buy a different fork, wheels, and shock - but such is the price of chasing the latest and greatest...

Jared Graves - Rider Journal - EWS 3
Super talented rider and an excellent writer too! Grooving on the diary entries - best of luck Mr Graves for the last 4 rounds. Also really appreciate the section at the end which describes his bike set-up. Would be neat if other pros did the same.
