Sea Otter Classic - WTF Part 3
Call me crazy but, for once, an electric engine on that moto-demo would not be such a bad idea...

2013 Shimano Zee Group Set - First Look
Not sure about you jaybird951, but I have the 'hammercrapperz' FR (combo'ed with an X9 system) in one of my bikes and I looove the freakin' thing. Granted, not the lightest or cheapest system around, but it works just as promised - and stating that about anything from the SRAM group is usually something to be suspicious about (as far as my experience goes anyway). It is 'spooky' good when you think you're going to hit that rock or log because you just made a dumb line choice and then realize nothing happens... The shift refinement is also out of this world, and I have two conventional XT systems to compare it with. You press the sifter, it changes gear, lightning fast, no questions asked. My mechanic describes it like this: "it looks like it works with electricity or something". I cannot stress how different (better) from an conventional system it is. I would like to see Shimano's answer to these systems.

Contour Danny Hart POV training run in San Romolo
My 2 cents on this discussion: I have tried GoPro's and I have a Countour ROAM. This "mine's bigger than yours" bickering will go forever... the fact is, they are pretty much close to each other in features and quality, it goes down to personal preference. If I were to engage on a 'fact' based argument, my experience would allow me to say: - GoPro's sound is just as bad (yeah, Contour sucks too), but again, I don't know of any cheap POV camera that has any decent sound capabilities with the built in mic. I'd say, the Contour takes the win here because (at least on the ROAM) the mic is water prof. - GoPro's default color settings tends to be more vivid, Contour look a bit more natural (maybe a bit on the pale side). I don't see this as a good or bad thing. - The rattle on the Countour's... well, I have never experienced that, so I don't know. Maybe the camera mount choices has something to do with it? - Video being jumpy, well CMOS based cameras suck anyway (which both contour and gopro's are I believe) for anything with lots of movement. Once they move to CCD, that's going to be a very different story all together. And on the vids above, yes, the video edit does suck a bit...

2012 Norco Truax
"The TRUAX rides the line between a traditional shore bicycle, a freeride bike and a downhill bike, pulling the best from each world and essentially creating a new style of bicycle design and intended use" Seriously? OK, call it what you want, but don't make the same mistake the auto industry manufactures do every time they come up with a new car - it some how belongs into a new category (SUVs,SAVs, Coupe SUVs, and so it goes on...) What was wrong with "All Mountain" to start with?

Garbonzo DH Race Recap
You know what makes me really happy? I'm finally starting to see some 'zocchis in the racing scene again. The fork battle is, at last, heating up again (not just RS and Fox anymore, like the past 2 or 3 years).
