May 1, 2023Salsa Redpoint Carbon, Custom Build, 160/150mm
$3250 USDCustom frame-up build with less than 500 miles. Fork, wheelset, bars, and stem in particular have only a few rides on them. Fresh chain just installed.
Some cosmetic blemishes, paint chips, cable rub, etc that is to be expected with any use on a mountain bike. Mechanical condition, however, is excellent. Miles are low, it has always been well cared for, and was just thoroughly tuned up to get it ready to sell.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or to set up a time to check it out. Thanks!

Aug 18, 2022Polygon Xtrada 7
$900 USDFor sale here is a nearly new 2021 Polygon Xtrada 7. This bike was used by beginner, almost exclusively on gravel bike paths. We're selling to get her a bike better suited to that use case. Thanks to Strava, the mileage is known to be only 442 miles. A thorough tune up has just been performed and the bike is 100% ready to roll. It's stock, with the addition of a front mudguard and downtube protector. There are some minor cosmetic marks here and there, primarily from transporting it in the car.
This bike was chosen as it's the most full featured bike we could find in the "entry level" price range. Modern geometry, highly adjustable 120mm air fork, boost axle standard, 1x12 Shimano Deore drivetrain, Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes, Microspline Hubs and Centerlock Discs on tubeless ready wheels and tires, internal dropper post compatible. This is one that can be serviced and upgraded for years to come as your skills progress.
Original purchase price was $1,200 after tax and shipping. Selling for $900, with local pickup in Huntley, IL. Prefer a cash sale but would consider trade or trade+cash on a nice gravel touring bike.

Pinkbike Poll: Convertible Full-Face Helmets - Yea or Nay?
I've been wearing a Super 2R for over a year now, and have been really happy with it. It suits the type of riding I do, which is a long grind of a climb with enough scattered small descents to necessitate a half shell on the climbing portion. For the main descent I throw on the chin bar for a little extra protection and confidence. It sits on my pack in such a way that I can just reach over my shoulder and grab it, so getting it attached takes less than 10 seconds and almost no effort. At this point it's just automatic.
I got my brother one right before a ride when a shop had a "trade in your old helmet for ~30% off type of deal" and I happened to have my janky old road helmet in the truck. It paid off about 45 seconds into the descent when he went face first into a tree. Perhaps not "DH Rated" but we are riding trails here and after a few knocks it appears to be sufficient for that. For a day at Northstar or some other park where we are going hard, I opt for a dedicated full face.
Overall, I think it's a good concept and I'm glad to see more options coming on to the market. I don't see any reason why my next helmet won't be a hybrid as well.
