I am a completely talentless mountain biker, but always trying my best. Been scaring myself senseless in the forests for over 20 of my 28 years and recently took up racing in the West Australia downhill and enduro scene.
I enjoy photography and dabble in video editing - you can see some of my race reports and photography at www.nikolay-k.com

Andes Pacifico Enduro: Days Two and Three - The Long Road to Wine Country
You don't measure air temperature using a dark plastic device sitting in the sun. Nevertheless 37 degrees is pretty damn hot, anything over 35 and it's no longer fun. I have actually ridden in true 47 degree air temperature (check out Leonora, Western Australia, 9th January 2013) and it feels like you're slowly suffocating, getting very light headed and slightly disoriented within 10-15 minutes.

Turning Cranks in Argentina: A Singletrack Adventure
For once Top Gear didn't actually mean any offence, the number 'coincidences' were far fetched at best and the production crew did change them as soon as someone pointed the problem out, the real problems started after that, even though they'd done their best at righting what wasn't really a wrong. Despite Clarkson being a self proclaimed conservative, he knows better than to poke at unhealed wounds - that's not his style.

Pinkbike Poll: How Do You Want Your Bike Biased?
Exactly they need to add the option " It's all about the decent, my legs can get stronger, but a nervous bike will never get funner".

Full props! Trying nationals and crashing is still miles better than not even going and taking oneself out for 4 weeks on probably the easiest corner at Mundaring !

DMR V12 Mg - Review
Yep, I learned mountain biking on a set of V8s, which lasted a good 11 UK winters. They, along with some V12s I got later, are still going strong on some other bikes. I'm sure these will be just as good!

The Growth of Gamut USA
I had (the keyword here) a Gamut chainguide on my dh bike. Long story short the bottom slider broke (fair enough) and I be damned if I can find spare sliders or even just boomerangs. While it worked the guide was great, but choosing between paying for a brand new guide every time I hit a rock the wrong way and spending 20 bucks on a new set of sliders is a fairly easy one.

Interview: Jerome Clementz - Re-Signing With Cannondale
Yep, mountain biking seems to be going through a sort of golden age. The top competitors are amazing athletes as well as down to earth guys who are actually enjoying their lifestyle and are absolutely genuine. For me people like JC, Fabien Barel, Steve Peat are the ones I would idolize as a child and want to be like. I regards all the top guys as world class athletes; with regards to talent, perseverance, dedication and sportsmanship, not just some dudes with big balls. I hope this doesn't change any time soon - is it just a question of how much money is in the sport, or will MTB always be a bit more easy going ?

How good is that gap which now has a berm leading into it (just after the stepdown gap) ! Rode there Thursday and the dirt was absolute heaven!

Danny Hart and Emmeline Ragot join MS Mondraker's 2015 DH Roster
So good to see Ragot getting a decent ride for 2015! A lot of top teams bringing in plenty of guys and leaving some of the girls behind..
