Daz ... Tristan Matt and myself are going up for the opening day ... Coming ?

Yo bud. Im back in the fire station sat, plus I think ill be happy to avoid the carnage.
Im still in morzine mode, so an uplift may be on the cards rather than trail riding to the top. :-)

Will be there with a couple mates for opening day too see you there.

Saying that I'm pumped for this would be an understatement!
  • 1 1
yep what a cock ! I'm there all weekend hopefully I'll ride over him.

Anybody know if there are any Jump Trails like A-line etc. that would be a good play on the Slopebike without having to go to Canada?
  • 13 1
Shame out of all 3 of the videos there is no credit given to 2 of the main builders of these trails (Nikki and Shaun).

 Agree

 Not cool!!

Glad they have it all going etc but a few things of the website that spring to mind. It has short opening hours in the summer at 10am-5pm considering the cost to ride. The summer months I would have thought could have been open till 7pm? Especially if you compare this to Aston hill say that is open between 8:30am and 7:30pm.

Also why does making you local give you a massive discount on a season pass when it is the other further afield that have to pay allot to travel?
  • 2 0
 this....
  • 2 4
Because the locals have been riding there since before the bike park was even though of , hardly fair to make them pay at all IMO
  • 3 0
Locals are going to benefit from the trails and facilities as opposed to people coming a few times a year, surely giving discount to riders from further afield will get them wanting to go to bikepark wales more often.. No?
  • 2 0
perhaps if everyone just paid a smaller amount at the same rate it would be fair to everyone!
  • 1 0
Honestly it should of been the same for anyone who wants a pass. No other place to ride as far as I am aware has one price for locals one for everyone else. If they had made it £55 a year I am sure it would have had enough people picking a pass up to make the different income up.

I am also assuming that although it doesn't state is that you pay just £25 for the uplift rather than £30 if you have a season pass? Was no mention on site when I last checked.
  • 1 0
Unless you plan on riding there more than 15 times a year the season pass is pointless. Especially if you don't have to pay the £5 fee if you've booked on the uplift , which will probably be the biggest crowd puller IMO.

More tracks and trails = better UK mtb scene!

This is such a good development for the UK. I can't wait to get a weekend trip booked. I really hope it's successful and they build more and more trails there.

  • 1 0
Penachno forest overgrown and poorly kept really crap no signs or anything there so doesnt get my vote :/,, llangollen revolution antur stiniog moelfre foel gasnarch, caersws all downhill tracks within the hour of wrexham been to them all and recommend them all!
  • 1 0
Cheers! Give us a shout if you visit any of them, don't fancy going to them for the first time on my own! Don't know anyone who mountain bikes in Wrexham :/
  • 1 0
Yup, loads of DH in north wales- if you want uplift you've got stinky dog, Revs, Llangollen, Nant G, Foel, Moelfre, plenty of choice. Penmachno is a trail centre, best to go early or late season when the plants aren't fully grown. Great if you hit it flat out, just peddle round and you'll think its rubbish. Get away from the trail centers- there's amazing natural rides out that way. Find some routes online and go enjoy. Or push up Snowdon. If you're in Wrexham there's also some great trails around the Long Mynd near Shrewsbury.

Coed y brenin, miles and miles of fire road-not good avoid!!

Are there any downhill tracks? I noticed the old dragon dh track has been refurbed but is that the only downhill track there? To much secrecy
  • 1 0
All the trails run downhill but most have xc grading - 2 black runs, 2 red and 2 blue with some smaller sections, but the refurbished dragon dh "Trail X", an offshoot of the black "Enter the Dragon," is the only one given a higher grading.
  • 4 1
Think I will give it a miss.....Yeh right, and they sell booze happy days pissed on the ride home can't ask for much more
  • 5 1
 so its not full downhill?
  • 2 0
I want to know the same thing, seemed like mostly trail bikes in the video rather than big travel bikes?
  • 4 0
apparently there is black double black and pro lines so Id say yeah theres full dh
  • 3 0
Heading there on Sunday and taking my Remedy and leaving the DH bike at home, seems that should be spot on for the majority of trails there.
  • 1 0
there are 2 black's one of which closely follows the old dragon track the other i haven't seen, i have spied some pretty big gap jumps though.
  • 4 0
 Hope there's some steep stuff.
  • 2 0
YEAH....YEAH....YEAH....am there another top set of trails for the UK YEAH.........(can you tell i am a little excited by this)
  • 1 0
i'm a noob rider, but i like some gnarly stuff, so this place seems perfect for me. there will definitely be some stuff that's out my comfort zone. i guess you more serious DH guys are looking for 60ft gap jumps etc.
  • 1 0
I think most of the vids thats have been released are of the blue and red trails. There will be 2 black runs which will hopfully be more dh bike oriented
