 Suggest anyone who thinks Gee is a sore loser should head over to http://dirt.mpora.com/news/leogang-world-cup-finals-gallery.html and listen to Gee's post race interview on image 38. Gee is the epitome of humiilty.

And, image 36 shows Gee even managing a smile on the podium. I think Gee deserves a lot of credit for being gracious in defeat, and giving Stevie his due.

 That's the kind of stuff that's been getting to me, Gee deserves so much respect, it's Gee Atherton for God's sake. He's MTB Royalty. What do you expect him to be like after having the title snatched away from him so spectacularly, he played it off well in my opinion. I'd be going ape shit.

 @ mikecawsey Thanks for the link to the audio from Gee. I can see how some figure Gee is a sore loser, but facial expression can belie a individual's true feelings and thoughts (I have a keen sense of the obvious). He was disappointed, absolutely, but deeming Gee a sore loser is a knee-jerk reaction (admittedly, I fell prey to it too, what with his shades and gruff beard). I am certain both Gee and Stevie, and all the racers really, would want all their opponents to be their best, and Gee is no exception. What an amazing season. I can only imagine the fire this will have lit under Gee's arse for next year. Watch out.

 Agreed! He was pretty consistent all year, but he really turned that consistency up a notch after Andora. It was breathtaking actually. Almost as if he was a different rider. I think everybody knew after MSA that Stevie was in with a shot if Gee couldn't hold him at bay. And Stevie's mom is just plain awesome! He better put her on his helmet!

 Congrats to Stevie well deserved 1st place! But i must say Lapierre team is looking stronger and stronger for every year, next year i think they are the ones to look out for! Just look how well they placed them self this year.

 Emmeline apparently has some special ways to get the necessary aggressiveness for the race (background during the interview) At least I would get aggressive looking at this.
