the health and saftey regulations would shit the bed if you tried this in britain.

 haha same in the netherlands!
  • 19 2
Same with the US. Sucks because this is one of the most awesome videos I have seen in a long time.

they should just have all riders and onlookers sign a waver notarized in the state, saying that they will not sue under any circumstance and in any way shape or form during that day! wala you have the sickest race ever! but yeah health and safety would have a field day with this.

 Same in Straya

 Can you imagine?
May I see your risk assesment and method statement for the 360 downside tailwhip please?
Errrrm.....

In the US you can have people sign their lives away, and you still get sued. It's the American way, it's always somebody else's fault.

At my mall, they shut down the stupid rock wall because some kid fell 4 feet from the ground, and the mom decided to sue. (no injuries, not even a scratch). I can't imagine what kind of chaos would erupt if they hosted a MTB race there...

They did one of these in the St. Paul Skyway a few years ago, maybe 2 years in a row? They really need to bring this back.

Imagine the raw exposure this would bring to our sport if we could do this in us and canada? Man id love to have something like this going on maybe not regularly but like an annual thing even. I know biking is already getting fairly mainstream but for the people who dont see the sport the way we do,showing up to your local mall and seeing bikes racing down escalators and flying up to the second level upside down on a bike how could you look away?

disclaimers aren't worth shit even on ski hills/bike parks

I pretty much think about riding all day. Everything I see anymore I envision riding. And living in AZ we have mountains everywhere so now when I drive all I do is look for lines on them that might possibly be sweet sweet single track.

I honestly don't think I have ever dreamed about this...

Dream bigger then you little dreamer you.

Angry mall guy @ 1:02 standing there like 'your not going 1 foot further on that bike'.
  • 10 0
They should have had the elevators on.It would have been good speed boost.

It was a great event, what sucks is that the course is pretty much the same every year, as there isn't much room for redesigning the track in such a small mall. It was a pretty cool battle between Slavik and Prokop, and I am very surprised that Prokop didnt steal the title this year as I felt that he was a faster rider, but time showed something else. In any case, I think Czech is more relaxed about regulations and safety for anyone interested pictures can be found here www.flickr.com/photos/114796293@N07/12018957263/in/set-72157639909178074

hmmm...ever since the 1999 release of TH pro-skater I've dreamed of action sports blasting through a mall. But live music special built features and the friggin croud!

I don't think this would be possible in finland

I love how this event spreads the passion of biking to anyone who is just at the mall shopping. People don't have to travel too far to see some awesome bike events like this.

This isn't the first DownMall race that has happened. They've done it before. I love the "Downhill" that isn't in a forest. Like the one they did in Brazil.

  • 1 0
yeah id like to know as well
  • 1 0
Well.. Honestly I don't like it. If I take my bike I like to go outdoors, not to the mall! Fresh air is much better the air conditioning!
  • 2 0
That looks brilliant ! DH and slopestyle for the masses.. in the warm hahahaha Redbull leading the way again :-)
  • 2 0
It's not Redbull first idea. It was done before. Redbull joins this races later. Anyway: Toma Slavik (4X) is winner of this season.
  • 1 0
Didn't realise that it was not established by Redbull, actually i suppose it would have needed to be running for Redbull to get interested.... Still a great idea though, anything that can bring our sport closer to people has to be a good thing :-)

 I LOVE Eastern Europe.
  • 8 6
 You mean Middle Europe.
  • 4 0
I have to apologize. I was unaware that CZ was no longer considered Eastern Europe but now referred to as Middle Europe. Either way, I love the CZ.
  • 4 0
accepted. Smile CZ wasn't easter europe. It was called eastern europe beause of Russian ocupation and communism, but it was always middle europe. Right besides Germany. Smile just for an explanation.
  • 3 0
Its called central Europe, not middle Europe, what are we like in middle earth or something. Yes, the best way to piss of a Czech is by saying hes from Eastern Europe, I'd rather be called Czech Slovakian than Eastern European...
  • 2 0
Shame on me, I meant Central E., next time I won't write in hurry. Thanks for correction.
  • 2 0
oh, sure "central" is right word. But we're in middle earth. Smile And did you ment to say: "by saying he's from Eastern....", because central is ok, isn't it?
  • 4 0
but somehow I like the expresion: Middle Europe. Smile
  • 2 0
I guess, I should read Tolkien less. Big Grin I think more important than correct expresion is if people know where they can find us on a globe Smile
  • 2 0
 I hope most can Smile
